Most beautiful area. I love that river. It is so great.

I love the mountains and the river. No place on earth like it.

I'm almost surprised (depending on the time of day this was taken) that you don't see my brother's truck right in front of you. He lives in Montoursville, and has been known to stop at the bar across the street from time to time on his way home.:wink2:

Yeah, she's on the far side of Mech from my area. Caught me off guard though cause there is a Brenneman Cir right near my area that is an industrial park. She's down in the real quiet part of Mechanicsburg though.

Do you think this guy is similar? If so, it's a cormorant. They are HATED here. They are fish vultures. My guess is a Brandt's cormorant. It's an adolescent.

I took this for my wife's website but have not used it yet. This heron hang out at Arizona's largest fish hatchery, a few miles southwest of Sedona. I have another one with a heron on the Page Springs search page.

I think I found it also.
Double-crested Cormorant
Phalacrocorax auritus

Often regarded as a curiosity, these dark waterbirds can be seen swimming low in the water and
diving for fish or resting on the shore with their wings spread.

If you hear 'score' riding around on the river, don't look if you don't want to see the feathers flying. :winks:

Cormorant is right. We have tons down here and saw a couple swimming in the ocean, just yesterday. They are swimming birds that chase and eat fish. Then they perch and spread their wings so they can dry, for flight purposes.
