Is having a degree suppose to mean something? Is that some way to try and make someone feel small to you? If you have a degree today…you’re most likely an idiot and can’t think for themselves. That’s what a degree gets you today. If you get a degree and become a teacher what does that mean?

I make more than everyone in my family that has a degree except for my mother-in-law who is a doctor. There are 500 jobs that require a college degree to every one good one in most places.

If you’re getting a degree in a STEM field, or possibly being a lawyer, those are worth going to college, for everything else is a crapshoot.

It's funny how sensitive some people get when you point out teaching is a job, and they're not martyrs.

Let me guess, is it your parent or your child that's a teacher? Usually when it's a spouse they know better because they're more honest about the people they work with.

Driving a truck is a job, being a teacher is a career, if you are a good teacher. If it's just a job, I'm glad my grand kids don't have that teacher.

I'm speaking from a from viewpoint of a family of educators. All teachers are not educators. Perhaps you experience is biased on teachers who aren't dedicated to the profession.

I understand. I was an educator, who became a truck driver for the pay, because I had a family. It was before you wer born, so I don't expect you to respond with anything but insult. Go with what you know, amirite?

Truck driving is never a career, no matter what the billboards say. Teaching is, if you are a dedicated educator.

There is a portion of the Teamsters membership that voted for SOB not because they believed in his leadership and ability to negotiate a strong contract but rather to have a blank check to go on strike. SOB was merely a vehicle by which to get back at the company for the injustices committed during COVID and beyond.

I'm just not sure exactly what you hope to gain out of this scorched Earth policy. SOB has already said they've squeezed every drop out of the UPS orange. We've got idiots in our center voting no "just to spite UPS."
