You are something else man....are you for real???

Call me slow, but I don't get it.

Where is the trouble coming from if a Steward informs an employee the night before that UPS will be talking to him in the morning about dishonesty?

From the employee?
From the Union?
From UPS?

I'm lost.

hey sorry i was kinda slow-brained, i didn't see the dishonesty part, only the stealing bit

yeah for dishonesty who gives a :censored2:, tell whoever you want; i had real stealing on the mind as we had a big purge in my district lately for it (and more to come)

I assumed he meant the driver was stealing time. They fire you for dishonesty.

In that case, and if they have proof, they usually have the driver arrested and don't give anyone prior warning.

A good steward would have been on top of this long before the employee was to be called in to the office.

And how is a Steward supposed to know?

The guy could be doing anything.

Extending lunch.
Extending breaks.
Sitting for too long before, or after making a delivery.
Making a Facebook video.

You tell me how a Steward should know that one of say, 60 drivers is doing something like this?

Sometimes you really need to read your post before you hit reply.

I don't want to give out too many details just in case.

We are a bonus center here. The driver was padding stops. Beating the routes he'd do by 2 or 3 hours.

He was not walked out but warned he will be next time.

FYI the steward tried to contact the driver that night. The driver never returned his call.

Our steward is keenly aware of who the problem children are.

Our steward is keenly aware of who the problem children are.

I know the runners, the rebels, the by the book, the slowmo's, etc.

But I do not know of the ones extending breaks and lunches.

Your Steward must have ESP to know this. And if it is that obvious, then management also knows and the drivers are already fired.

And what if it wasn't a problem child.

What if a driver happened to call his wife and didn't realize the call latest for 10 minutes, didn't code it out and this was the day he was being followed and observed for methods?

I'm don't need to list anymore, as it could take 2 pages, but you get the idea.

Either way, the driver deserves a heads up and I want to know exactly what he did so I am not blindsided in the morning.

Any good steward is going to take the time to meet with the member he/she is representing before walking into the office to meet with management.
