Well that is not happening anytime soon so move on fellas.
You keep slamming bbsam for the Ground business model but seem to forget that he was not involved in it's implementation; for all we know, he may be morally opposed to the model on principle alone. However, he is also a smart businessman, and if he is able to get qualified help willing to work for what he is willing to pay then why shouldn't he take advantage of this business opportunity.
You, much like the UPS drivers in the "Do we deserve $32/hr?" thread, seem to have a sense of entitlement but, as was aptly pointed, employees work for what their employer is willing to pay or they look for work elsewhere. If employees of bbsam.inc aren't happy with their compensation they are free to look elsewhere.
The Ground business model makes a lot of sense from a purely business perspective.
Yes, they could handle all of that. It would be rough going, with ISPs scrambling to hire more drivers and purchase more vehicles... It might even get a few contracts renegotiated. The capital city of my state used to only have 1 Ground driver delivering the entire city; today, it takes several. More freight = more drivers and trucks.
I am not sure why you are on a FedEx forum....you really don't work for FedEx.

Upstate the FDX ground model is just a business scam that will fail in a court challenge sooner than later. THE GROUND CONTRACTOR MODEL IS JUST A TAX SHELL FOR FDX.
You seem BLIND TO THE FACT THAT FDX HAS TO PAY A CONTRACTOR WHO HAS TO PAY A BOX MONKEY. THE TOTAL COSTS FOR FDX IS MUCH HIGHER THAN YOU THINK.![]()
There is going to be a big power struggle(mess) with FDX and all the FDX GROUND OWNER SHELL corporations that are going to get too big.
DO YOU REALLY THINK UPS WOULD SWITCH OVER TO THE FDX GROUND MODEL AND LOSE TOTAL CONTROL OF THE COMPANY?
FDX IS GOING TO HAVE TO NEGOTIATE WITH THE GROUND SCAM SHELL CORPORATIONS AS THEY GAIN MORE POWER. THATS NOT A GOOD BUSINESS MODEL.![]()

My company buys fuel from Shell . Does that make us a shell corporation?
What they in Memphis fail to see is that we the couriers are its Biggest Advertisement. The company started out with this philosophy, taking care of us, with good pay, nice benifits and nice looking uniforms and the promise that if we did a good job and help grow this company, we would be taken care of. As a 28 year employee with Express, I have seen the change with the company investing in everything but us the frontline employee. We are treated like theives and the trash of the company. Slackers that are waisting company money.
So back to the 'A satisfied customer made this check Possible" Yes, Mr Smith and Memphis, many Great hard working Couriers made these customers happy.
Were you always this funny or did it take practice.
I'm fairly impressed with the wit that has shown up on the Ground side lately. At least they aren't a bunch of whiny overpaid crybabies without the nads to stand up for themselves.
Wit!?
My comment was meant very sarcastically .

You are young, and proud. Good for you. I'm some what embarrassed by what my career has become and i have no one to blame but myself. If I hadbag Express or UPS people in my work area, I would certainly park different. Luckily I don't have that issue. The newer UPS guy knows it, he bows to me. As well he better.

I'm 46 my friend. I try to run like I'm 23 though.
pure idiocy. They do negotiate, and are not nearly the push overs you think.
not with ISP'S they don't.No they dictate price and policy at this point.
