Voided ballots probably. Lots of people do things that void their ballot. They may also not be up on dues but still received a ballot.

They can tell in a matter of minutes if there is a winner after selling a billion Powerball tickets but for some reason elections take forever.

It takes a long time to count the ballots because we have fair elections with oversight from an independent election supervisor. Probably the most honest election process of any major union. Believe it or not, Hoffa Jr. tried to get rid of independent elections back in 2015 so he could run them himself. Not to cheat obviously. Just...for fun.
Only a little over 103k .ore ballots to count.
