I'm on windows 10 and it's pretty nice. Came from windows 7 which was the best then to 8 which sucked and now on 10.

YOU WANT THE UPDATES ESPECIALLY THE SECURITY ONES... Not sure what oldy is smokin...

You install the important updates - which includes all of the security ones. NOT the recommended which are mostly about installing Win 10.

The default is for your computer to treat the recommended as important, so they will install automatically. The simple fix is to just uncheck that box.

My P.O.S. computer kidnapped my Widows 8 and forced Windows 10 on me. That's assault !! I don't like change and I need to pout for a couple days. Damn computer !!

In my opinion windows 10 is way better than windows 8. It does take some getting used to though.

Microsoft tries to do that but you need to make sure your update settings won't allow those updates. And there are a couple of updates that trigger everything you either shouldn't install or should delete before anything happens.

A big thing is to uncheck recommended updates are installed like important ones. The other bad updates are just nags you can get rid of.

I update every time there's an update available, os, apps, everything. But of course I like stuff like that. I did wait a few months to go from win 8 to 10 because I listen to Leo Leport's tech show and he said to wait.

I hate Win 8 but 8/8.1 is OK with Classic Shell to make it more like 7. You can still buy new computers with Win 7 Professional which is what a couple of mine have. The one I am using right now is 8.1 with Classic Shell though.

10 has more security issues than Fort Knox. I miss the days of XP and napster.
