Building wide force every day since the first of the year here lol
They have been doing it at our building for a year and a half almost. It SUCKS! They NEVER hired enough 22.4s so its CONSTANT forced 6s and arm twisting and guilting you. And the dispatching on saturday AND monday is a hot dumpster fire filled with used baby diapers! It took months of proding the local and making some other calls to finally get the locals stance on what we can say and how they will back us but some drivers won't stand up for themselves. Even when you do its harassment EVERY WEEK about working every saturday. FRIEND OFF!!! I DON'T WANT THE EXCESSIVE OVERTIME I GET EVERY DAY I DO NOT WANT A SIXTH PUNCH!!!!! :censored2::censored2::censored2::censored2:

I agree with you it’s a disaster, but the locals hands are probably tied because of poor language. Hopefully we get this fixed and just a few months.

Hell they still force 22.4s here on Monday and call FT drivers on the side to let them know they can stay home. It's out of control....
That is a contract violation in the 22 4b section:

Supplements better address this or were screwed because the NMA won't and with that being negotiated last most members will expect to see it in there not realizing its a supp issue. Another reason negotiating supps first is a bad idea!
We have language that no full timer can be on call.
They try to BS a couple of these guys and tell them they're on call.
I tell them just don't answer your phone they can't do anything to you

They tried that a few times here it’s hilarious, and I laugh at them. Go ahead and call my phone. I wouldn’t answer and I wouldn’t come in even if I did.

Another thing we are noticing is that they are bringing in more drivers than they need and doubling up routes because air is so heavy. I’m sure the ivory tower is telling them not to have late air. Make Saturday air end of day.

So i can't remember if i have posted this on here, but i have thought this a number of times.... so for discussions sake.... what if they made 3 day a week part time drivers. Seems like the surge of volume is always tuesday and wednesay. What if they made a part time driver position that works tuesday, wednesday and covers the saturday deliveries. Same pay and protections as rpcds except obviously no 40 garuntee, no vacation or route coverage splits only maybe. Similar rules like with 22.4s: lock in the number of rpcds in a center, part timers can bid into full time driver. SATURDAY VOLUME NEEDS CAPPED AND REGULATED!!!! Too much goes out with monday full times getting cut. Anyways, then the company has less to juggle on their end with scheduling, everyone gets same pay so no two tier progression. If not splitting the schedule into m-friend drivers and t-s could work instead, there seem like there are alot of layoffs at my center currently though idk.

That's how it is here.
Technically, here we disagree with PVDs completely, company, skirts, the issue by calling them seasonal drivers. Everything has been put on hold until contract negotiations in regards to PVD the international does not want to arbitrate they want to negotiate the issue.

My building uses PT and FT air drivers in that way. Use them to pick up the slack when needed at top FT driver rate.

We have PT cover drivers here already. Only guaranteed 2 days a week and basically drive Wednesday and Saturday. Fill in other days when needed or they ask FT drivers to go home to get hours.

You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
regular PT/FT employees, just with more schedule flexibility or something

the company wants schedule flexibility and to minimize compensation, not weird job classifications with bizarre rules
Minimize compensation while doubling profits and dividend payouts. In the middle of the highest inflation and tightest labor market we have seen in decades. Good luck with that.
