Don't waste your time trying to explain Bubblehead. Anyone that routinely reads BC knows your position on UPS, our union, and the current state of the Ohio Rider. The fact that you happened to go on vacation during the proposal meeting was inconsequential to me and should be to all others. As you mentioned, it is only common sense that we expected there would be no concessions in the contract when UPS was making a 4+ billion dollar profit. Your reputation is well known here and I for one respect the comments you post on BC whether I agree with them or not.
Your dealing with an individual that is compensated not by UPS... but our hard earned dollars and that of other hard working Teamsters. There are "no wires crossed" here. Deflection, deception, and distortion of the truth are techniques used by elected officials (politicians, etc.) everywhere to further their position in life. Isn't it ironic that you have to try and explain yourself to a guy that is compensated in part by our hard earned dollars?. Remember....he is SUPPOSED to be working for us...we are not working for him. Your efforts in keeping our union officials held accountable are admirable......
So...with that said...this thread is about the Ohio Rider and a topic which is relevant in part to my contract and the future of all Ohio UPSers. I hope the Ohio Conference of Teamsters soon releases some information to the Ohio locals about what the status of the Ohio Rider is. Too many "Teamster Blackouts" during this contract. Why in today's modern day methods of communication are we left in the dark about so many important issues?
