President Obama!

[h=1]Revealed: How Obama was playing golf until 20 minutes before Navy SEALs began mission to take out Bin Laden[/h]
  • Stayed out on golf course to distance himself if it went wrong, book claims
  • We would have taken him alive if he surrendered, says commander
  • Al-Qaeda leader's wife screamed: 'No, no, don't do this... it’s not him!'
  • SEALs nicknamed Bin Laden 'Bert' in reference to Sesame Street muppet
In the official photograph, he looked every inch the commander in chief.

Strain etched on his face, Barack Obama watched as the raid to kill Osama bin Laden played out on a television in front of him.

According to a new book, however, the President was not nearly that engaged – and was actually playing golf until 20 minutes before the operation began in earnest.

Only then did he down his clubs and return to the White House to watch what he later trumpeted as a great success of his presidency.

A new book claims the official account was riddled with errors and that Bin Laden was referred to as 'Bert' and not just 'Geronimo'.

Also, none of the Navy SEALs said the now famous words: 'For God and country', and when they burst into Bin Laden's room, his wife screamed: 'No, no, don't do this... it’s not him!'

The claims are from Chuck Pfarrer, a former SEAL team commander, in a book called SEAL Target Geronimo.

Mr Pfarrer says the President's role was largely inflated and suggests he stayed out on the golf course for so long so he could distance himself in case it went wrong. Mr Pfarrer writes: 'If this had completely gone south, he was in a position to disavow.'

He says the White House photographs did not show the moment that Bin Laden was killed, but the moment a helicopter went down, which happened after the shooting.

What difference does any of that make? It's not as though he were involved in the planning and execution (pun intended) of the operation.

I find it amazing when people try to make an issue out of what is clearly a non-issue.

Where was Bush when Katrina devastated half of our country?? I don't think we should really start throwing these stones.

Again, what difference would it have made, other than for PR purposes, for Bush to have been in New Orleans? The President has advisers to handle the details of any operation, foreign or domestic. Should Bush have gone to New Orleans sooner? Absolutely but it would not have made one bit of difference to the folks dying in the Super Dome, much the same as Obama watching the operation unfold on TV would not have changed a thing.

They explained that way back then......when ANY president travels, it's a circus and a logistical nightmare. Rescue efforts would've been severly hampered.....and he'd take heat for that too.

Remember the Gulf oil spill??? Talk about not showing up!!

The major difference it makes is that zer0bama is taking credit of "getting OBL", Bush and Katrina, Bush did exactlly what the president is supposed to do after a natural disaster, wait for the governor of the effected state to request federal help. Also what More brought up about the rigamarole involved with a president traveling to the effected area. I never heard Bush proclaim is role in victory in New Orleans.

What the Ex Navy Seal was pointing out was that zero had very little to do with getting OBL.

What the Ex-Seal is troubled by was the fact that the operation gathered vital info that was made useless because bhos had to proclaim victory so quickly .

Obama off to Bali as budget battle begins...
(Reuters)
Obama embarks on a nine-day trip to Hawaii, Australia and Indonesia on Friday that he will use to highlight U.S.-Asian economic ties and the long-standing U.S. role in the region's security.
His absence from Washington will coincide with a deadline for Congress to avoid a government shutdown and a pivotal stretch of deficit-cutting negotiations that investors and credit rating agencies will be watching closely.

Obamanomics: Federal Debt Jumps $203 Billion During October…

(CNS News) — The federal government’s debt increased by $203,368,715,583.63 in the month of October, according to the U.S. Treasury.

That equals about $650 per person for each of the 312,542,760 people the Census Bureau now estimates live in the United States.
At the end of September, the total national debt stood at $14,790,340,328,557.15, according to the Bureau of the Public Debt. By the end of October, it had risen to $14,993,709,044,140.78.

The debt increased far more this October than it did last October. Between the last day of September 2010 and the last day of October, the debt rose from $13,561,623,030,891.79 to 13,668,825,497,341.36 — for an increase of $107,202,466, 449.57.

Only $650 per person. Need more tax cuts - round it up to $1000 per month ;)

Tuesday, November 8, 2011 @ 2:49 pm | Emperor Obama Rips “Do-Nothing Republican Congress,” Issues Another Executive Order…

Dear Leader spends the bulk of his time hitting fundraisers and golfing on the weekends — and he’s criticizing Republicans for doing nothing?
(The Hill) — President Obama continued to hammer what he’s called the “do-nothing Republican Congress” on Tuesday, accusing Republicans of trying “to gut investments in education” as he laid out the next in his series of executive actions aimed at education reform and job creation.

“After trying for months to work with Congress on education reform, we decided to take it into our own hands,” Obama said at a Head Start educational facility in Yeadon, Penn.

The comments were similar to remarks Obama has been making over the last few weeks, as the White House looks to portray Republicans as obstructionist.

The administration’s latest executive action will change the incentive structure for the government’s Head Start program, which provides pre-school education to almost one million low-income children. The Obama plan will require Head Start educators that don’t meet certain benchmarks to compete with other organizations for federal funds, an incentive the White House believes will improve the quality of the program.

Re: Obamanomics

Ouch.
(Reuters) — One year before voters decide whether to re-elect President Barack Obama to a second term, a majority have little faith in his handling of the economy but he still leads his Republican rivals, according to an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll released on Monday.

Nearly three-quarters of respondents said Obama’s administration had fallen short on the economy, on improving oversight of Wall Street and the banks and on the federal budget deficit.

Most of the respondents said the United States was headed in the wrong direction and just 25 percent said they believe the U.S. economy will improve in the next 12 months, the poll found.

Tuesday, November 8, 2011 @ 7:53 pm | GOP Senators Demand Investigation Into Obama Admin’s $730 Million Loan To Russian Steel Company…

Inquiring minds want to know.
(E2 Wire) — Two GOP senators want the Energy Department’s (DOE) internal watchdog to investigate a planned $730 million loan for a company to manufacture high-strength automotive steel in Michigan.

Sens. Dan Coats (R-Ind.) and Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) are asking DOE Inspector General Gregory Friedman to probe whether Severstal North America — a subsidiary of Russian steel giant OAO Severstal — should receive public financing to retool and expand facilities in Dearborn, Mich.

“Given the tremendous fiscal crisis that we find ourselves in today, it does not seem appropriate for the program to subsidize technologies that have already achieved commercial success through private-sector means,” their Nov. 7 letter to Friedman states.
The letter follows House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa’s (R-Calif.) letter to Energy Secretary Steven Chu last month attacking the potential financing.

Re: Obamanation here today

OH, so now it's a Christmas Tree ????????????

November 8, 2011 @ 9:38 pm | Caesar Obama hath issued a decree taxing all Christmas trees

“And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.” — Luke 2:1

(The Foundry) — President Obama’s Agriculture Department today announced that it will impose a new 15-cent charge on all fresh Christmas trees — the Christmas Tree Tax — to support a new Federal program to improve the image and marketing of Christmas trees.
In the Federal Register of November 8, 2011, Acting Administrator of Agricultural Marketing David R. Shipman announced that the Secretary of Agriculture will appoint a Christmas Tree Promotion Board. The purpose of the Board is to run a “program of promotion, research, evaluation, and information designed to strengthen the Christmas tree industry’s position in the marketplace; maintain and expend existing markets for Christmas trees; and to carry out programs, plans, and projects designed to provide maximum benefits to the Christmas tree industry” (7 CFR 1214.46(n)). And the program of “information” is to include efforts to “enhance the image of Christmas trees and the Christmas tree industry in the United States” (7 CFR 1214.10).
To pay for the new Federal Christmas tree image improvement and marketing program, the Department of Agriculture imposed a 15-cent fee on all sales of fresh Christmas trees by sellers of more than 500 trees per year (7 CFR 1214.52). And, of course, the Christmas tree sellers are free to pass along the 15-cent Federal fee to consumers who buy their Christmas trees.
Acting Administrator Shipman had the temerity to say the 15-cent mandatory Christmas tree fee “is not a tax nor does it yield revenue for the Federal government” (76 CFR 69102). The Federal government mandates that the Christmas tree sellers pay the 15-cents per tree, whether they want to or not. The Federal government directs that the revenue generated by the 15-cent fee goes to the Board appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture to carry out the Christmas tree program established by the Secretary of Agriculture. Mr. President, that’s a new 15-cent tax to pay for a Federal program to improve the image and marketing of Christmas trees.
Nobody is saying President Obama doesn’t have authority to impose his new Christmas Tree Tax — his Administration cites the Commodity Promotion, Research and Information Act of 1996. Just because the Obama Administration has the legal power to impose its Christmas Tree Tax doesn’t mean it should do so.
The economy is barely growing and nine percent of the American people have no jobs. Is a new tax on Christmas trees the best President Obama can do?

Re: Obamanation here today

Shades of SENATOR Obama !!! He's decided not to make a decision on the pipeline. That's like voting "present". He has an opportunity for making tons of jobs and he's going to wait. It's campaign mode and nothing else for Buck.

Re: Obamanomics

Our leader can't make a decision.

Regarding the pipeline, the unions want Obama to say 'yes' for the instant jobs it would create.

On the other hand, the environmentalists want him to say 'no' to protect the environment.

So, leader that he is, he decides not to decide just yet. The quandry is both of these groups support the Obama ticket. With a decision, he can't possibly please both. So he says he will decide after the election.

Now, that's the first real transparency he's shown in 3 years!! "I see your True colors shining through!!"
