If 716 billion is coming from medicare "savings", that leaves a relatively small amount to make up over 10 years, doesn't it?

Re: Obamanomics

Can any of you remember what the state of the economy was back in late Oct 2008? Do any of you remember the headlines at the time?

Things have turned around to the point that the USA is once again the best place on the planet. Our recovery is slow, but on track, as opposed to most of the rest o the world. The policies have worked, in spite of opposition and compromises.

You are better off than than you were 4 years ago.

Get with Moreluck on that 2008' question as she's the BC historian.

As to the 4 years later question, not really. It takes twice as much Viagra now and I'm not as quick to spring out of bed in the morning so I guess the answer is no!

Not at all:

CBO: ObamaCare Price Tag Shifts from $940 Billion to $1.76 Trillion - Yahoo! News
That's not the CBO report, that's Brian Koenig "interpreting" the CBO report. That's the problem.

Now we're getting somewhere:
CBO and JCT now estimate that the insurance coverage provisions of the ACA will have a net cost of just under $1.1 trillion over the 2012–2021 period—about $50 billion less than the agencies’ March 2011 estimate for that 10-year period (see Table 1, following the text)

And continues:

The ACA’s
provisions related to insurance coverage are now projected to have a net cost of
$1,252 billion over the 2012–2022 period (see Table 2, following the text); that
amount represents a gross cost to the federal government of $1,762 billion...

Look at the years again. Notice anything? Scroll down to Table 1 if you want to see an apples to apples comparison of the same 10 year span.

Re: Obamanomics

For me personally there is no question that objectively I am in better financial shape. I probably worry more about it, but that's just a consequence of being a little older and a little closer to retirement.

Nope, that's not what my post was about.

I think we can agree that the CBO is saying it will now cost us 1.76 trillion (gross), correct?
How much was it estimated to cost when it was [-]shoved down our throats[/-] signed into law?
