Reconfigurations, should it follow layoff language?

I'm right there with you...this is my last contract and im leaving...not working into my late 50's or 60's...I'm going to enjoy the last few years because they probably will go by super fast...as is life. Before we know it we're on our death beds.

The question is can I bump a preferred job if that person is PT but is NOT the lowest in seniority on the sort. Lowest senior employees are all in unload and preload. A lot of us are scratching our head because it's not a layoff but reconfiguration. Layoffs are like the 22.4s who became RPCD and are now in the hub. Eventually they'll go back driving.

I agree but wanted to see how other locals or regions are doing it. Our local is not consistent with how they do things, especially once there is a change in leadership. One day they'll say the according to the contract, this decision. Then another day they'll contradict their decision.

The contract in the west says, laid off employee bumps last hired pt. They just finished laying off inside combos in my building, they kept about 5 inside combos, so they let the remaining combos back stab cutthroat each other which lasted a few weeks, then they just permanently layoff the inside combos, so no seniority, and no rights. Now they have gone to air combo drivers, first they laid off pt eam, air drivers. Now they are starting to screw with full time air combo, giving them hope but I believe there going to permanently lay them off too. So, no seniority no rights. They are not getting reconfigured. The rule for preferred jobs, is you can't displace a pt for that job until it is vacated. Doesn't matter about co seniority. Just like when an employee is in a position for 30 days they can't be removed.
