No, because that had already happened. "This generation" could mean a generation who saw these things taking place thousands of years from when he said it. Like end times.
Most of the people he was speaking to about this (the disciples) were dead before 70 ad. So they didn't see it take place.
Thing is, it also happened in 167 bc by Antiochus epiphanies who slaughtered a pig in the sanctuary.

I think the idea of the abomination is more like this in
2 thess. 2:3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.

Future antichrist goes to the temple proclaiming to be god
Still going with Jesus was prophesying ( future event) about a pig in 167 bc and after Matthew’s definition of this generation?

These folks were already baptized. He’s talking to members of the church. They were already Christians. He wasn’t telling them how to be saved.
Can you give me the passage that says baptism is a work?
The Bible says that baptism is a work of God in Colossians 2:12, which states, "in which you were also raised with Him through faith in the working of God".

In this verse, Paul refers to baptism as a burial with Christ, and a raising with him through faith in God's work. The purpose of baptism is to express faith in Jesus and his gospel.

This requires scripture. (Bible)

Where?

Scripture?

Where does the Bible teach this?
According to most Christian denominations, baptism is not considered a "work" in the sense that it is an act done to earn salvation; instead, it is seen as a symbolic act of faith, signifying a person's commitment to Christ and their entrance into the Christian community, with the actual work of salvation being attributed solely to God's grace through Jesus Christ.
Baptism is not meant to be a deed that earns one salvation, as salvation is considered a gift from God received through faith.

It represents the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, signifying a believer's identification with Christ.

While not earning salvation, baptism is considered an act of obedience to Jesus' command to be baptized.

So, baptism is a work of God and not man as you stated.

Your interpretation of the faith that is expressed I think is the wrong definition of the kind of faith one must have before baptism.i The burial part is right. Sprinkling would not be baptism.
When a person in the Bible "expressed faith'' in what he was told to do to be saved, he submitted to baptism for the purpose of what the disciples taught that we can read. For the remission of sins, to be put "in Christ", to bury a dead man, to wash away your sins, to be saved.

And your obedience to that grace. The grace is conditional. If not, Hitler is in heaven.
We have not done or can do anything to earn salvation.

"What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.- Rom.6:1-
When does one die to sin?

A Christian is alive in Christ! A Christian is a new creature. A non Christian is dead in their sins.
Being buried alive in real life makes no sense. Being buried alive (as a Christian)makes even less sense. People who are dead in their sins get buried.

Water baptism is a work of man and it is symbolic therefore sprinkling or dunking it does’t matter.

Being spiritually immersed in Christ by belief in Him is a work of God. That my friend is a baptism that saves. The beautiful part is that Christ then baptizes us in his Holy Spirit. I know you don’t believe that.

I think you have mixed up religious ritual with spiritual baptism.

I suspect you don’t even believe in the difference.

This is the second time you failed to give a verse.

Looks like you changed subjects without a verse.

I’m sorry this makes no sense to me.
