That is your desired interpretation. In order to make your belief system work you have to denigrate the Bible as God's word given to us as a guide to salvation. Get the Bible out of the way and you're free to promote sin as not wrong in God's sight. That's just religiosity pushed by Bible thumpers. But not you. You've got it straight from God that one can do whatever one likes without harm to one's chances of spending eternity in heaven. Does it feel good? Do it, God doesn't mind. I'm sure that idea has appeal to some but for the sake of their salvation I hope they read their Bible and find out God's plan of salvation before it's too late.
I know your faulty position about my theological understanding, beliefs, and faith.

Thank you for sharing, it only benefits my testimony as a disciple of Jesus.

I will wait for @tourists24 to respond if he chooses to do so!

Love you my brother!

Based upon your statement it seems to me your opinion is that a person can be a disciple of the Bible but not a Disciple of Jesus.

Is that a fair understanding of your statement ?

🙏
I would say that when you are saved you are "born again" and start your journey from that point on as a disciple of Jesus and use the bible as your guide to help navigate your life. I don't worship a bible, but I put more importance in it's use than you do

If you truly believe you can cast aside your Bible. God will have direct conversations with you. Ask @Integrity

I place an extremely high value as to the importance of the Bible in my spiritual/religious formation.

I’ve always said that the Bible is extremely useful for instruction.

Please honestly comment on how you view yourself as placing a higher value on the Bible than “ extremely important“ as I do?

I do believe that God will have direct conscious contact with you if you so desire to walk with Him in this life, but I would never recommend casting aside your Bible as the Van man does in his post. He can speak to you through religious written traditions as well.

I truly believe as he does for me that God can speak to you through the writings of the Bible. God dictates the revelation of scripture scripture does not dictate the Revelation of God!

I would say that only because I don't believe the bible is fallible because it was men that wrote it.

I'm not even sure what a disciple of the bible is if you aren't a disciple of Jesus

Very true.

How would we even know about Jesus if it wasn’t for the Bible?

And if someone believes there’s so many mistakes and miss truth in the Bible, why would they follow any of it?

But you decide which parts of the Bible are acceptable, which aren't. God's chosen apostle, guided by the Holy Spirit, couldn't have possibly meant that. So I'll just ignore it. I know better. God told me. That part about Jesus driving the money changers out of the temple? The writer must've made that up. My Jesus would never do that.

P.S. I don't recommend anyone throw away their Bible either. If you can't recognize someone being facetious then that might explain a lot of your thinking.

i realized something

like the matrix, we are being lied to on a massive scale by the people who control the economy

after we are lied to, many of us repeat their lies. most of us lie to ourselves.

a few of us are concerned with the truth even if we don't know it. we will at least honestly try and find the truth.

its up to us to break the cycle of lies and be true to our religion.

the bible is full of contradictions. you have to choose which parts to follow.
