So, you actually interviewed each driver and asked how much work they wanted? Or you just guessed? In over thirty years driving I've never had a manager or supervisor ask me how much work I wanted. What this sounds like to me is you were another manager who could have been accused of playing favorites, or you just posted this to make you come off better.
Like I said, every center & hub has different management styles. For the people that did the job I did ask them for their opinion. For those that didn't, I either rode with them or had a sup ride with them and then I locked them in to their demonstrated level of performance.

I'm seen as a "cancer" because I want the contract enforced, everyone to be treated correctly, and people to take their break.
I often wondered why people cared what other people are doing. You are just the type of person that make other people not want to be in a Union which is not good in this day & age. What do you think the Union needs most to survive? The answer is Membership fees & Dues. With almost half the state passing "right to work laws" this is going to hit the Unions hard when new employees don't have to be part of the Union. Where do you think the Teamsters get most of their money from? It's from the Part-Time turnover. If these people last a month the Union still gets their membership fees. Those of you who support unions, and I am one of them, need to start taking a look at the big picture. Unions are a dying breed in the US. You need to get your member involved in a positive way. Times are changing & you need to change with the times.

If godzilla fought king kong, however, here's the kicker, godzilla does not have fire breath OR lazer eyes, would king kong win on strength alone.... go ahead, prove your a center manager now........
I'm afraid that question is for District Manager or above. You're going to have to dumb down the questions if you want me to answer.

Don't believe everything you think
Did you ever on a OJS not get the numbers you wanted and if so would you play with the numbers to get what you wanted.

I never really paid much attention to individual numbers. All I cared about was holding the person I OJS'ed accountable for his demonstrated level of performance for the number of days I was with that person. I saw far too many management people get fired for fudging numbers. UPS does believe in Integrity.

Is it frowned upon fudging the numbers on a OJS. Had a sup change my am time to approved safety meeting after I punch out on a OJS, all three days

@OldMan ......I've overheard, and have been told about, how division managers talk to their subordinates on conference calls. What I've heard or have been told has been despicable. Where you ever the guy on the other end that was talking to people like that?

Also....did you ever come close to getting fired or demoted for backing an hourly employee?

OK,
Please give me an honest answer to this...
Over the course of your career do you have knowledge of management purposely setting up drivers using salts and/or misloads to trick the driver into lying to cover their tracks... in order to fire them?

The traps would not have worked had the drivers been doing what they were supposed to be doing.

Integrity with a capital "I" huh?
Why is that?

District Managers & above are concerned about how the management below them are producing. If the hourly employee's are doing bad then they want answers from the management team. Believe me, they are not going to accept the answers that are hourlies are POS's. I know you might find this hard to believe, but upper management knows it's the workers that make them successful. That's why every workshop I was ever sent to talked about taking care of the worker's.
It's funny that you say that in the center I work at the management are a bunch of brainless thick headed idiots and they could give to :censored2:s for the workers they would let the runners and gunners get away with murder compared to the driver who was doing the job by the book

So tell me how did you "hold them accountable" since the numbers are not recognized as valid by the union? I had my share of 3 day rides and management would consider me "locked in" until the meeting with the steward present and we would go through all the problems with the ride.

I have been on the end of some of those calls. No, I would never treat my management team with disrespect. That's what made me successful. The answer to your other question would also be no. One thing I learned earlier was to review all the facts before coming to a conclusion. I would rather of been fired than sacrifice my Integrity.

Like I said, every Center is different.

If a management person is fudging an OJS then there will be problems when you try to hold that person accountable to lies.
