I’m also doing the same work as the 22.3 guy and he makes $15 more an hour than me
But that wasn’t the offer that was given to you. Go ahead and vote. No I’m fine with that. You’re still not gonna get the same pay no matter how many times you vote no. I find it. Curious that you’re so upset about making different pay as long as it’s someone who’s making more than you, but if you’re making more than someone else it’s fine. Hypocritical maybe?

Sounds pretty good to me. Are you not happy for the new hires? And you get a little bump as well plus yearly raises.
Again my problem isn’t the pay. I wasn’t unhappy with the pay before the raise. I mean if we all go in the room of truth most of the workers at ups drivers/loaders/sorters/unload is all unskilled labor work. All of us including you drivers are highly overpaid for our jobs.My problem is the devaluing of my years of service to the company by paying me the same as a new hire. You disagree that’s fine. That’s just my opinion.

Your years of service really only give you you seniority. Bidding rights, vacation picks, etc.

This is where the confusion is

If you are at $18, do you get bumped to $21 then also get the $2.75, or do they add the $2.75 to your $18?
Yes if you’re under you will be bumped up. The annual raise will go towards people over 21. If there is a delay in the ratification which you can count on you will get a retro check. Make sure to keep track of your hours so you dont get cheated

My understanding is whatever is larger. So in your case you would get bumped to 21.

If you were at 20.00… you would get the 2.75.

I look at it like driver progression. 4 years top out pay is fair, after that everyone is making the same, but new drivers are doing the same work and making less money

It sucks man starting at $8.50, working to $10 then new hire gets bumped to $10, work through the years to $15 then new hire wage gets bumped to $15, now work to $18 and once again im at the same as a new hire

Even the contract is giving $2.75 immediate raise to current employees which I was super happy about and thought was fair, until I learned it just gets added to my current wage that will bring me right up exactly to the new hire wage… again

As a driver I can see why you feel that way. For us part timers though we have always made more that someone with less years of service up until this contract.
I was part time for eight years it’s not a foreign concept to me. What is a foreign concept to most is actually how unions are supposed to work. Usually you have a progression or apprenticeship, and then at that point, everyone makes top rate no matter how many years someone has been here.

Incorrect. And again if I am wrong feel free to bring this up at a later date. If you are at $20 you would go to $21 first then receive an additional $2.75 if you have cleared your 90 days.
