I think it’s a either/or scenario. You either get to 21 or you get the 2.75You go to $21 and if you have made it past your 90 day seniority period you get an additional bump of $2.75.

I don’t know how anybody knows for sure. I haven’t really seen any language yet.Incorrect. And again if I am wrong feel free to bring this up at a later date. If you are at $20 you would go to $21 first then receive an additional $2.75 if you have cleared your 90 days.
exactly, which is why it sucks making the same as a new hire after ten plus yearsUsually you have a progression or apprenticeship, and then at that point, everyone makes top rate no matter how many years someone has been here.
My understanding is if you are at 20.00 you would go to 22.75 then get you additional raise for time served.Incorrect. And again if I am wrong feel free to bring this up at a later date. If you are at $20 you would go to $21 first then receive an additional $2.75 if you have cleared your 90 days.
Well, first and foremost, I don’t know that you will be in the same amount. But if this is what it takes to get the ball, moving and for labor to start making gains, it’s worth the sacrifice. We have to start somewhere.exactly, which is why it sucks making the same as a new hire after ten plus years
I may be showing my age here, I haven’t been PT in some years. But if someone has been here long enough to be making $20 an hour, then surely they are past their 90.Incorrect. And again if I am wrong feel free to bring this up at a later date. If you are at $20 you would go to $21 first then receive an additional $2.75 if you have cleared your 90 days.
I am not disputing that but that simply isn’t how ups structured the pay scale for pt workers. It may come to that but as of now that isn’t how it is structured.I was part time for eight years it’s not a foreign concept to me. What is a foreign concept to most is actually how unions are supposed to work. Usually you have a progression or apprenticeship, and then at that point, everyone makes top rate no matter how many years someone has been here.
But you have seniority! Dont worry that some FNG is making money. Everyone was just up in arms “gather round brothers and sister we gotta stick together” but you better not be new and almost making what a 20year crusty part timer is making… ridiculousI look at it like driver progression. 4 years top out pay is fair, after that everyone is making the same, but new drivers are doing the same work and making less money
It sucks man starting at $8.50, working to $10 then new hire gets bumped to $10, work through the years to $15 then new hire wage gets bumped to $15, now work to $18 and once again im at the same as a new hire
Even the contract is giving $2.75 immediate raise to current employees which I was super happy about and thought was fair, until I learned it just gets added to my current wage that will bring me right up exactly to the new hire wage… again
You would be correct my mistake. At $20 you would automatically be eligible for the $1.00 raise plus the $2.75.I may be showing my age here, I haven’t been PT in some years. But if someone has been here long enough to be making $20 an hour, then surely they are past their 90.
And I believe that is where the part time classification is moving. This is the biggest contract in the private sector, and you cannot completely change it in one contract.I am not disputing that but that simply isn’t how ups structured the pay scale for pt workers. It may come to that but as of now that isn’t how it is structured.
FYI i am simply going by this video i listened to on the way homeYou would be correct my mistake. At $20 you would automatically be eligible for the $1.00 raise plus the $2.75.
To me there is a big difference in treating everybody fairly and treating everybody the same. But you have seniority! Dont worry that some FNG is making money. Everyone was just up in arms “gather round brothers and sister we gotta stick together” but you better not be new and almost making what a 20year crusty part timer is making… ridiculous
So FT and PT doing the same work should make the same amount......I’m loading in the same damn trailer as the guy making $15 more an hour and we’re doing the same job, that seems equal work to me?
.....but the new guy doing the same work as you should make less.Just sucks being here over ten years and getting paid the same as a new hire.
It doesn't bother me or most of the old timers that I talk to but everyone is entitled to their opinion.Honestly, this is a fair rebuttle.
How many boxes do you not tape up? Or do you work with air condition too?To me there is a big difference in treating everybody fairly and treating everybody the same.
And here we go....
Maybe so but again that isn’t how it is structured. The way it is presented now in its uncapped form is that there is still value in years of service. There are two guys that are part times at my hub that are making drivers wages right now. There is a huge discrepancy in pay between part time workers as it should. And I believe that is where the part time classification is moving. Those guys are red circled. Like @PT Car WasherMaybe so but again that isn’t how it is structured. The way it is presented now in its uncapped form is that there is still value in years of service. Listen bud I try to tape up every box that I am able. I am not your typical pt guy though. Not sure what your question is about ac though. Unfortunately we don’t have that or heat in our building. How many boxes do you not tape up? Or do you work with air condition too?
Do you think there should be a progression for drivers? So FT and PT doing the same work should make the same amount......
