This is honestly the best contract it was ever offered to us in my entire career
Last contract was like being served up a warm turdšŸ’© as your entree at a restaurant. Manager comes out and apologizes for the warm turd and promises you the best steak you have ever had to make up for it.......then they bring you a Tofu Steak. Hey, it's not that steak we promised you, but it sure is a huge upgrade from that turd, right? Can't complain about that. šŸ¤Ŗ

Look that is not the way it was explained to me from a regional union guy. Not saying that what I was told couldnā€™t be wrong but I didnā€™t get this info from a in the hub union rep/local union guy. I was told $21 first then $2.75.
That is incorrect and this contract is set up just like the last one when they started increasing the starting wage. If you are currently @ 18.25/hr or less, Aug. 1st you are raised to $21. Say you currently make $19/hr. Then with the $2.75 raise you would go to $21.75 Aug. 1st. Depending on your years of seniority, you may be eligible to receive some or all of the $1.50/hr "longevity raise."

I'd bet the longevity raise is a 1 time thing. As for MRA's, I'd guess if they are currently making $21 or over that will be taken away within a few weeks/months with this deal and anything over $21 could go back to $21 but they are still slated to get the contractual schedule raises of a total of $7.50 over the 5 years. If they were MRA at $26, or less then they would have never received a raise under the current contract due to expire or even if it went on for years.

The MRA is high where I am and I've been a nearly two-decade PTer making near the same or the same as all other PTers for at least the last 3 years. I was bitter for a few years, so I relate with you folks while after starting and doing the same work for $8.50. However, the MRA people I've worked with making $26 do a great job and if this place fills people with great workers, then that makes my job easier.

I wouldn't be surprised to see MRA's eliminated shortly after ratification, meaning someone who thought, and likely will be met at the gate telling them how great this TA is for them and to vote "YES". Imagine the looming disappointment to see that they went from something like $26 down to $23.75. Company will wait a month to spring that on them. Granted, these MRA workers will see the yearly contractual raises that will take them to $28.50 by contracts' end. That's not bad but this is an everything now world and SOB did deliver the biggest raise ever of $2.75 for the everything NOW folks.

This shows exactly how the raises are laid out and it's good to see the longevity raises will be done in full on year one of this contract, not split up and spread out over several years. It is a bit ugly to see years 2 and 3 raises at only .75 cents. That's at or below year 2 and 3 raises from the last awful contract. It is nice to get $2.75 year one, but it is at the expense of years 2 and 3. Regardless of how it is payed, there's no way any one year raise should be at or below the last contract, which was pre-covid and before this unbelievable inflation we have encountered this past 2-3 years, while UPS enjoyed record profits.

How do you have 14 misloads already? Did they not roll out the RFID pals yet?
LOL, I thought RFID was just to make sure they had the misloads in there. I walked up to my bricked truck yesterday and a supervisor was belly crawling over crushed boxes mumbling something about not being able to find them. Reminds me of the famous line in the document Jurassic park, ā€Life will find a wayā€.

I think that while not perfect it's a step in the right direction....I felt that since I paid the same initiation fee and dues as the fters I deserved the same pay.we pters worked our asses off. perhaps the plan is that the next time/contract the pay will be equal. presently its still discriminatory .

They should probably just change the way they pay PT to the way they pay FT. Start at pay rate A then after four years pay rate B. UPS could pay PTers less, they wouldnā€™t realized they were getting payed less, and they would be happier for it.

Wow, 17 pages! Sorry, don't have time to catch up, sorry if I missed some key points.

I work smarter not harder, that's how you play the game. We all entitled to our own opinion.

Indeed. Many have chosen to work harder and longer, (FT) while still working smarter.

Not you OP, but there has been this theme of a "majority of PT'ers" because they are the (two-thirds) of the workforce....and for some reason this has been viewed by many PT'ers as something relevant to what should be done.

IMHO, that means there is two-thirds or roughly 66% of easier work. That's not saying PT workers don't work hard, but if PT workers want a ton more money, then they need to brown-up and run a route.

Loading trucks, unloading trailers, sort aisles, all don't compare to delivery.

The talk of "hourly jobs at UPS are unskilled is a little bit of BS. Unskilled somewhat means anyone can do it, delivery takes some skills, mostly mental skills, and it's tough.

My point is, yes PT needed more money, so did FT. If you want a TON more PT money, you need another PT job or go FT.

SOB did a lot of talk about ā€œrewarding the long term part timersā€ to end up giving me a buck extra lol. I definitely got my hopes up and am disappointed
GTFOH

In my 30 years here, this is the most lucrative contract we've ever had here at UPS.
I've never seen this much money spread out to everybody at once and probably will never see that again.
It's entitled losers like you that will never be satisfied with ANY contract.

We have the greatest non-skilled union jobs in history and you still want a revolution. SMFH
So again, GTFOH and find a "better" place to work

Years of service should matter. Only an idiot would think other wise. I am sorry you accepted a position that has a caped salary. Maybe you should take that up with your local union rep. What your were trying to do by comparing your caped pay to a uncapped pay is simply ignorant.
Going on a limb here and judging by the tone of your entitlement I'm guessing you don't do :censored2: in the warehouse. Your not an idiot though. You and everyone else crying about this is a clown, now go find some new jokes this one is getting old.
