Shareholders Letter to Carol Tome

If you have been here for 35 years I imagine it would be pretty awesome. Essentially you work whenever you want because you have so much seniority, need some extra cash next week, work. Don't wanna work, tell them you’re good. If you’re healthy what else are you gonna do? Sit around everyday maybe go on a walk. Go out to lunch. I'd imagine at 35 years with the company you’re not at the age to just go do whatever you want anymore.
Guys here with 35 in are 53 to 55 years old. Most started summer after school

To think all you have to do is drive where it tells you to go is incredibly hilarious.

You will get a gun pointed at you if you tried it.

Here's the hint: most of the other folks that have to take these streets: Police, Disposal and garbage, Fire, etc. Are unionized and must learn designated routes that ofc differ drastically from what the diad will tell you.
That is not all I think you have to do.
I'm simply stating that with technology that is available today, it would be easier to bust the union. It would have been impossible in '97.

Technology may have improved since 97 but the work ethic has definitely gotten worse. I doubt 10 percent of today's population could make it a week at UPS

I agree but, it doesn't matter.
Making more money than an idiot could ever imagine + technology + a scab mentality = more temptation for UPS than ever before to go for it.
If UPS was still private, they would probably go for it. Tears of public shareholders is why you'll get a contract.

If UPS honestly thought for 1 second that they could replace all of us... they would. They know they can't! Or at least they know it would take years, and cost an astronomical amount of money.

Trust me. They're thinking for more than 1 second.
But, the money they would make after a few years of losses would make up for it and then some.
Don't swell up and think you will never be replaced.
The country already hates your guts for the money you make and the benefits you have for"just driving around in a truck."

Ya but UPS doesn't think about the long term, and the shareholders would have no patience for that.
Most of the country is on the Teamsters side and UPS knows it would permanently lose shippers if they tried to replace us.

Loss of shipper revenue would be made up by scab money instead of paying you.
Like I said, you'll get a contract because of the tears of the shareholders. This time.

That your old center scratch??? You retire and the who place goes to sht…
My Center went there before I retired, it got where I was embarrassed by what happened to apperance standards. Half the drivers and management looked like they had just stolled in from a homeless camp. I never met Carol, although I have a friend that works around her some. I saw Abney and Askew, Abney is a tall man. One time during a PCM, I noticed a lot of strange suits hanging around a center manager's office. It turned out Askew visited us and he totally ignored drivers and our PCM.

It'll be the same next time too. Teamsters aren't going anywhere until we can all be replaced by AI at once. All management and corporate positions will be replaced by AI long before we are.

Check out the arse kissing wannabe wearing a suit because Big Carol was arriving. Her dressed the way she is, makes the brown noser look even more ridiculous.
