The best thing the Democrats can do is not to try to impeach Trump because it could alienate independents and moderate Democrats and there's quit a bunch of both. Let the GOP fight it out among themselves because right now the only internal threat to a second Trump term is spelled T R U M P. The only external threat to a second Trump term is spelled ..... R O M N E Y . The only Democratic threat to Trump would be as Bannon pointed out is a Harris- O'Rourke ticket which might pickup a additional swing state or two but not enough given the fact that bible thumpers and hard line conservative zealots would never tolerate a female racial minority president even if she came with a special dispensation from God itself.

I wonder how many Dems are going to show up to vote after the Mueller report debacle? A couple of weeks ago I thought the Dems were on fire to get rid of Trump. Now not so sure. Of course they want to get rid of Trump. But many might feel they got played by the media and top Democrats. Still a lot of time left though.

Fact is, there’s a certain populist sentiment that the center of both parties can’t reach. If that sector feels he’s delivered, he’ll be re-elected. It will be fairly easy for Democrats to show that he hasn’t.
But it did take Democrats crossing over for Trump to win. I wouldn't count out Gabbard or Lang. Gabbard seems like a voice of reason in a field of extreme voices. Lang may sound awfully good in areas of the country looking for relief. Especially in normally Democrat areas. Watched a video of him pointing out reasons that UBI would work. Sounds reasonable, especially to Democrat voters. On the other hand if you put up a candidate slamming white men all the time highly unlikely you'll get the moderate vote. Even if that candidate tones it down the media will say it for him.
