Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.
If you don’t vote you can’t complain. It’s mostly a formality everyone knows it will pass. The question is how many people will vote.

I wish that was an actual ruleIf you don’t vote you can’t complain.
The non voters are usually the biggest crybabies too. If there was a vote, I voted.I wish that was an actual rule
Yes votes ÷ total votes x 100.So, how are the votes consider? Percentage of yes vs. entire membership, yes vs. all votes, etc.
Seeing that Az is RTW, what’s the attitude in the barn? Pro strike? No?Yes votes ÷ total votes x 100.
Exactly. LolWhat happens if we have less than 50% turnout, and 54% of us vote to authorize a strike? I know what previous leadership would do.
Well that works then ! Long as it’s a yes lolLike last time it was 90+% yes for authorization but only like 20% turnout or something
Cry Havoc! And let slip the dogs of war!Well that works then ! Long as it’s a yes lol
I am hearing some of the same things.I believe you will be correct. The only reason I say that is because now I'm hearing most locals are ignoring the instructions and just doing whatever will get them the most votes.
I'm good with it. The higher the number the better.
In the last contract cycle it was rumored that just 30,000 people actually voted in the strike authorization. They couldn’t release the actual numbers beyit was embarrassing. I get your beef with this process and how it was unfolded but there will be so much more involvement this way. For as sloppy as this looks it will be more successful. Yiu do have a legitimate beef though. They could have did this a few weeks ago and strung it along over a two week time window. How? I’m supposed to drive 4+ hours round trip on my weekend to go vote at the hall. Zero chance 99% of members are driving to the hall to vote.
I’ll be interested to see numbers if they’re released because I just don’t see how this leads to MORE votes. In the last contract cycle it was rumored that just 30,000 people actually voted in the strike authorization. Tell me how this leads to more votes. It looks slap dash. I think it leads to low vote totals. In the last contract cycle it was rumored that just 30,000 people actually voted in the strike authorization. It gets more votes because you don't let the member go in the building or leave with out pretty much forcing them to vote. Members need to be spoon fed by the union or the union isn't doing its job. Can't ask a member to care enough about his job or union by expecting them to show up and vote or pick up the phone.I’ll be interested to see numbers if they’re released because I just don’t see how this leads to MORE votes.
Doesn’t get any simpler than phone call or internet.
The teamsters aren’t going to release those numbersWhat happens if we have less than 50% turnout, and 54% of us vote to authorize a strike? I know what previous leadership would do.
NeverThe teamsters aren’t going to release those numbers
But if it can’t be done at the building or on property (at work) that totally eliminates that.It gets more votes because you don't let the member go in the building or leave with out pretty much forcing them to vote. That would be true but it's being ignored around the country. But if it can’t be done at the building or on property (at work) that totally eliminates that.
So they tell them to stop and move to the side walk and have someone standing at the entrance directing people over. Now if they do it that way I agree but I’m sure ups is already sending memos out to not allow it on their property
Why not hand out the ballots at the parking lot entrance as guys are coming to work and have someone there to take the ballots as they go home. That would be true but it's being ignored around the country.
