Teamsters ratting our teamsters

That’s funny... many of the division managers I have come across over the years look the mafia part much more than any of the teamsters I have worked with...there are a couple in particular I’m thinking of that could be right out of the sopranos.....
Must be why we moved the corporate office out of New Jersey. Couldn't tell the goombas from the corporate suits.

I heard in our building that a fellow steward ratted our another member and that person denied it of course someone like that should not be in the union at all never mind a steward ? WTF ! He or she was trying to get someone in trouble for there benefit ! And they removed them from steward of certain Dept and put them in another one didn’t even explain why they move they think because they are switching dept not because you are a RAT

File internal charges against him/her. Read your bylaws and they will explain the process

What was the issue for the steward turning informant? If the steward has to throw another employee under the bus to save that another employee job?

I seen how one employee has favorable treatment when it comes to attendance and others get written up but the favorite employee nothing happens. Now employees mention such person they drop the write ups.?

My steward keeps track of half the centers attendance on his own. He's pointed out many times to my center manager how the driver he hates has called out 8 times in 7 months and the favorite driver has called out 13 or more in the same period.

Love watching him walk into that office with his calender and a smile on his face. Makes me laugh everytime!

That's one of the many reasons he gets a couple 6 packs a year from me every year. ;)

Just a couple 6 packs a year? You and the rest of the sort should be treating him to a steak dinner at least once a month.

He is a driver and a very good friend. I do a lot more but he also feels guilty because he doesn't do it for gifts and doesn't want to be seen that way. We all know people jump to conclusions. I make sure people see me thank him for his hard work because he deserves it but I don't overdo it out of respect for him.

I had a misdelivery concern the other day. Turns out I went to the house next door. Stopped by on the way home, retrieved the package and handed it to the consignee, apologizing for my mistake.

A fellow driver, who is a well known mgt kiss ass, told me the next morning that he had read the concern and because he lives on the same street took it upon himself to try to recover the package. He said that he did it because he likes to help out other drivers. I told him in no uncertain terms that while I appreciated his enthusiasm I did not appreciate his decision to involve himself in something that was 100% none of his business.

I’m just guessing. But If one was honest, one wouldn’t have been ratted on?

29 year driver vs a 3 yr driver-----you do the math.

That being said, I would never take it upon myself to personally investigate a misdelivery concern on another driver's area.

The three yr driver didnt make the mistake, the 29 yr veteran management kiss up did.
How embarrassing was that?
Maybe you could pcm that for the rookies tomorrow. Tell them to double check the label, pal, and physical address. 29 yr rookie.

Oh yeah dude, by the way, the steward has every right to the attendance reports when people are being disciplined unevenly for like issues or to warn management not to pull the trigger on harassment becuz the steward has info to the contrary.

A steward who works that hard to protect members from abuse deserves to be respected and acknowleged.

Unlike yourself who deserves a tube of Preparation H for being such a hemoroid for so many years.
