OK. Let me make this simple.

The starting rate for a PTer Aug 1, 2022 was $15.50

The starting rate for a PTer Aug 1, 2023 will be $21.00

That's a $4.50 raise immediately when over the past 30 years the rate only went up $7.50.
Much like the last contract, retro checks for new hires to 2-4 year senior folks was some 3-5 times higher than 5-15 years vets. It made for quite contentious work conditions. And it’ll happen again here soon enough.

Last time around it took nearly 11 months to get back pay. Some got many thousands as those with twice the seniority barely got a few hundred.

about $4.75 short of what full timers deserve!!($15 total over the next 5 years!!) What happened to "nothing less than $25 an hour for part-timers? That's a concessions if I ever heard of one!! I say no! They got the money and the economy is only going to get worse and their profits will continue to grow. Wake up and smell the BS!! This was already decided two weeks ago. How did they get this printed out so quickly? Bamboozled again!!
We got more than $25

I don’t like PVDs being there and using our own cars. Should be a cover driver position or seasonal. It’s a valid safety issue.

There is not a whole lot of choice besides PVD's. They cannot get enough jumpers like they once used to be able to do. And there are not enough rental vehicles to get for peak. Hell, last year, we were shipping them in from other states because there were not enough locally to run peak.

And, PVD's are actually a seasonal package car driver that just happens to drive their own vehicle. And again, this is because there are not enough rental vehicles to go around.

I couldn't image being mad because someone's backpay check was bigger than mine.

This looks like a decent contract to me. $2.75 raise? I remember the contracts in the past we were happy to get $1.00 a year. Got rid of 22.4, that's a big one. Somebody working full-time hours should get the same pay and benefits as a full-time driver. I figured the cost would be $30B, that's right in the middle of the initial demands from both parties. UPS puts a certain amount of money on the table, they don't care about how the Teamsters divide it up between PT and FT. I'm not expecting a pension increase as a retiree. Once you quit moving boxes or pay union dues you are forgot about.

We can dream though right?

I think people were more concerned with 22.4 over PVD.

I’m not with the PVD thing though it’s basically scabbing
I just see it as a safety issue. People already trip on delivery drivers in full uniform and a package car and delivering in your own vehicle can cause a misunderstanding. Also need to know how the insurance and mileage will be covered. We shouldn’t be using our own property for a company this big.

Had many people quit before getting their retro checks and then complain why they didn't get it. Made me laugh.
