TENTATIVE AGREEMENT REACHED AT UPS

Doesn't anyone else find it strange that talks broke down, but when they came back to the table a deal was reached... in what, an hour?
UPS knew where the goalposts were, shouldn't have taken long to get there. The last two weeks were all spent in finance to find out what it would cost to get this done, they found out they could do it.

Hold on for 2028.

There’s lots not mentioned

Will daily guarantee change or improve?
3 hours for pt gateway employees is pretty bad
It’s 3.5 for everyone else pt

Why not make a push for more split shift or combo jobs and get pt workers FT hours?
Many areas have a twilight and a sunrise shift but don’t allow workers to work both unless it’s peak season. I wouldn’t mind if half of our worthless new hires get the axe and gave us all more hours to work.

UPS knew what the negotiating committee wanted. Over the last 3 weeks, they did all the research, ran all the numbers, saw the loss in volume, saw who the public supported, saw how irrelevant a few sups trying to sort and deliver and decided the end was near. They came and gave the negotiating committee what they asked for.

…and it $6.20 total from years 2-5 that won‘t even cover what rent, insurance, energy prices, and other expenses will be going up.

A PT job is not meant to do these things. That is what your other job is for. And if you don't have another job and expect to live off a PT job at UPS, gtfo.

It says 7,500 new ft jobs.

about $4.75 short of what full timers deserve!!($15 total over the next 5 years!!) What happened to "nothing less than $25 an hour for part-timers? That's a concessions if I ever heard of one!! I say no! They got the money and the economy is only going to get worse and their profits will continue to grow. Wake up and smell the BS!! This was already decided two weeks ago. How did they get this printed out so quickly? Bamboozled again!!

So once again it appears the Teamsters are settling for the first offer?

Nope.

They turned down multiple offers. They also made the first offer, letting UPS know what they needed to get a contract.

UPS saw the writing on the wall and gave the negotiating committee what they wanted. This was probably the 5th or 6th offer.
