Too early to tell. We just got a few points shared with us not many other details.

Most should take the raise and invest unfortunately most will blow it and complain about it.
I used to advise the drivers in progression that if they were comfortable at their current wage to take the windfall bump to top rate and dump it in to their 401k. Very few actually listened and even fewer put my advice in to action,

Is there a parcel you can buy to log or divide and sell later? You can use your job to leverage a side land hustle. After you cash out in a few years you can pay cash for the toys.
I agree that quality equipment is needed to maintain property. Never cheap out on the quality.

If it’s 2.75 8/1/23 and an additional 7.50 over the rest, that’s a yes

If it’s 2.75 in the first year but 4.75 over the remainder, that’s a hell no.

I’m a believer in saving first and investing in property I can cash out on. Mineral rights, logging or parcel divide sale. I know I’m not alone in this strategy.
