It was a smart move. I hate to see us think we’re outgrown it without more evidence that we have. We are indispensable to the world’s stability. Just my opinion.
But see you and I don’t disagree on that part. I do believe we are the worlds stability and they need to listen to us at this point about this particular war at this particular time.

Bans = Control…. Moving on
Trump told Jerome Powell to cut interest rates.

Powell didn't do it.

Now Trump is trying to force Powell to cut interest rates by crashing asset prices.

We will see who blinks first.

And they buy our weapons and we each have stable and safe commerce.

I recommend the book ‘The End of the World is Just the Beginning’ which is about the collapse of the American-led order and the end of the benefits of globalization that grew out of it post-1945.
Hey amigo they don't buy nearly enough to meet their defense obligations. That's the point.

Bit of a stretch to call the right to education a ration of slavery
I think what is meant is borrowing serious money to get a degree and having that weight on you for decades. No worries. Banks can shell out money the government guarantees then the government can forgive the debt and let the taxpayer pay for it. They'll just print any extra needed. Works like a charm.

Where in the charter does it obligate a country to spend a specific amount? Or is it not a mafia style prtotection racket and we benefit by other means? We get to have Europe rely on us and we tell them what to do and they listen. If they go their own way it’ll have consequences for us in unexpected ways. Be careful what you wish for.

I forget the percentage but it's absolutely in the charter that members must spend a percentage of their GDP on defense. Most haven't for decades.

Is the point of NATO to have a mafia style protection racket in place? To have Europe rely on us so we can tell them what to do? Sounds like you’re saying it is.
