I failed my ICAR welding exam because of the aluminum part.

I had a friend who insisted he was the worlds greatest welder work on an aluminum scoop shovel of mine. He totally trashed it.

I'm sure they don't have the proper equipment or training for it. It's an art.

Welding is a skill I never learned and wish I did. I'm lucky enough to have a neighbor who has all the welding equipment ( stick- wire- gas) and knows for the most part how to use it and likes having any excuse to get away from his wife to work in his shop.

ANYONE can MIG weld. I taught one of my daughters how in 10 minutes.

They didn't even try at my building. There was a welding shop by the building and he was good. Over the years, I had him do several projects for me on one of my boats.

Our trailer guys do well. I've done a fair bit myself. Also cooked myself...the radiation is intense with aluminum. Covering up is paramount.

That fits my son-in-law perfectly. Every tool in the world but his are all still in the sealed packs he got them as gifts from his mother. He's a great guy but not mechanically inclined at all.

My tool box drawers are not organized but I can find anything I need.
