Joe Biden as part of his stimulus package wants to raise a minimum wage to $15 an hour . It is amazing how clueless some of these professional politicians are when it comes to how the economy works , maybe it's because he's never had a real job in his life !!! But be prepared for everything you purchase to be more expensive !!! And the loss of jobs . What a great stimulus bill !!!

It’s demand side economics. Poor people, that spend all their money, having more money to spend increases demand for goods and services. This creates more jobs to meet that demand.

Minimum wage is an idea to start people on the correct path towards bettering themselves.
You start off with a low wage and as you gather experiences you use them as step stones towards a better higher paying positions.
Anyone who stays at a minimum wages job for their whole working life needs some serious mental health guidance.
Raising the minimum wage only decreases the amount of jobs available to those that are just starting their working life.
Putting more pressures on the ones lucky enough to land a starter job.
It also increases everyone's costs for basic needs.

That's true in most metro areas. There are a lot of small towns however where there's not much more than fast food restaurants. My mother worked fast food jobs for about 30 years after my parents divorce. She would work two, sometimes three jobs. Rarely got a full day off. Many days at work by 6 a.m. and home at 11 p.m. That generation.

Unfortunately that's not the reality of how those jobs are treated now, by both the employer and the employee.
A big part of the problem is the shift to a part time workforce and service economy. There's also a cultural problem of defeatism and government dependence.
Not sure a good solution exists.

You have a large elderly working population that doesn’t mind working minimum wage, it supplements social security. A business owner is much smarter to hire a life experience person at minimum wage then some teenagers.
Minimum wage was not created as a stepping stone. Never, ever.
