Ups should consider

Since Amazon is talking about starting their own delivery service, Ups should consider starting their own "amazon" website. How hard could it be? They are a middle man with a name. We have the resources to make it happen. If nothing else, just the threat may cause them to reconsider. maybe we even partner with fedex believe it or not.... No question, Amazon is a major player. If they had their own trucks on road, it wouldn't be long until they start getting some of our other business.

he brings up a valid point though, they could try to come in on some of our other non amazon volume. that would be real back but i see amazon taking a while to even get in the game. i wonder how back their boxes are going to look once they get on the door step considering one piece of tape is enough... right....

What do we do about Amazon's competitors who ship with us? They're not going to be happy we are competing with them. Then you have to worry about the rates that subsidiary is paying compared to what say Target is paying. Opens you up to antitrust issues. It just isn't worth it.

That hasn't stopped ontrac or fedex ground and both have seemed to be doing fine... If Amazon ever had to buy a company to start delivering in the U.S. They would purchase ontrac in the west and laser ship in the east and they would have a nationwide network...

You should submit that idea at UPSers.com. UPS is always looking to bargaining unit employees for money saving or profitable ideas. The great part is they will pay you a percentage of the money you save or profits you create for the company!
