Yea I was just referring to we have a top rate, we know what it is and how many years it takes. I think the pt pay should be structured the same. They start at a certain wage and have a progression to reach top pay.
Why do that? MOST pters move on after days, weeks, months, years..post 221 shows a guy that's been around for 46 years who claims he was in the USAF for 21 years or 4 years or who the hell knows how long.
The time to move on was long ago for him.

It's a cleaner structure imo. Also I don't think a pter who's been here 30 years should be making 75k a year.

Around here, they're all under 30, more like 20-ish. Not in their 60's. I do see some old guys shuffling around and they're a hazard to themselves and others.
Same here, we have a car wash postion, they are supposed to gas up, clean and park. They can't even give you your PC 5 days a week, rarely is the truck clean the next day, they are useless.

President Biden respects the working men and women in this country. He's no trump. The Republican House may try and force us back to work but President Biden will stop them.

10% of our feeder roster is currently laid off. I think the approach UPS is taking is not bluffing. I think they are ready for a strike. Laying off so many drivers hoping to scare those same drivers into crossing the picket line with a guarantee of being able to work. It’s getting scary boys and girls. Buckle in and start saving a lot of money between now and 8-1.

Why do you think that? Because you are running a business or you feel bad that the PTers don't make enough?
Imagine it was your business and your money.
Since you "feel", I "feel" the PTers either get benefits or a hefty pay raise and minimal progression, not both.

PT employment is not intended to be a career at any business. It's intended to put people in place when you need them...as in Part Time. There are plenty of FT opportunities, but they have to give up their side businesses to do it.
Anyone wanting to respond "They're laying people off, need to consider the longer term employment span.
It’s not like the union let the company create the PT mess to begin with.

Well, I misunderstood the context here.
I haven't had a PT job since I was in College, I didn't care about the progression then, because it was a PT job....not a career, which I was preparing for. Same here, but that's my opinion.
What other companies in america are part time workers working for 10 years before being offered a full time job?

17 day strike. She said she had a plan on one of her interviews last year. They’ll be able to move volume and deliver some better than 97 but it won’t even come close to stopping the hemorrhaging. Non-RTW states will carry the weight. They cave in on week three and we get ALMOST everything!
Not sure how long you’ve been here but if there’s a 17 day strike a lot of folks won’t be working for awhile
