Out here in the West pt air drivers still get top rate for all hours worked if they pickup or deliver a ground package. Unfortunate that some locals give up these rights.

Covered in the Supplement: the company after making all reasonable efforts to use bargaining unit employees to perform bargaining unit work,.

Partially correct.

What it does say is....

"It is understood that after making all reasonable efforts to use bargaining unit employees to perform bargaining unit work, the Employer may use any other temporary means of covering this work with UPS personnel."

PT "air exception driver qualified" folks making 90k+ a year.... is by no means temporary.

Did any of your Locals Officers or Agents come out of UPS ?

I assumed temporary means are management personal, not bargaining unit members. All of our current Local Officers are UPS members.

We have many decisions with not being temporary is considered anything more than 30 days in a 90 day period. They either need to hire a permanent full-time driver or make the air driver a permanent full-time driver.

I agree the company needs to hire more FT 22.4 delivery drivers. The problem is no one wants to work anymore.

That line in the Supplement is the companies out for not paying supervisor working grievances, exhausted all means.

Wrong, if they do not have a qualified list and continually training. They will pay. there is always a steady stream of people willing to try to become a UPS driver. Regardless of what you say. You are simply taking up a spot so the company does not feel they need to hire and train.

Being a $20/hr UPS delivery driver is not the best job in town in my area. We have almost as many drivers quit as get fired.
