What does article 40 read regarding working out of classification?

Art 40 states air drivers will be paid top ground driver rate when picking up or delivering ground packages. It's a penalty on the company for working an air driver outside of his classification. The question is if he is paid ground driver rate for the entire day or just while handling ground packages.

I am hoping retirees will still be collecting a Pension. The pension plan only works when you have more people paying in then going out.

The point is, they shouldn’t be doing it more than just occasionally. You continue to pretend you don’t understand. That’s why there’s a Penalty because it’s not supposed to happen often.

The other air drivers sometimes say I am hogging the OT. Never been accused of stealing. In fact sometimes I will give up hours so they can work. Then they complain I am dumping my work on them. Can't win.

We’re not talking about air work, if you’re qualified and have the senorrity, it’s yours. We’re talking about ground deliveries and pick ups.

But just often enough for a part timer to be on pace to make $90k.

If the company wants to use an air driver to do a grond route they must get approval from the union.

We don't use air drivers to run ground routes. We also don't have PT temp ground drivers. Air drivers may pull some stops or pick ups off in an emergency. Unfortunately we seem to have a lot of emergencies. Like a driver gets hurt or sick or a family member. Are you going to tell a driver he can't go home to take care of a sick child because the Union won't let another Union member help out?
