And if they are disqualified....

What % do you think will be willing to come back, and do the job for less money ?
At my building they are taking the DQ drivers and making them EAM drivers and then delivering bulk, LIB's, or running misloads for top driver rate. Making more money now then when they were trying to qualify. When a FT 22.4 job comes up for bid they will gladly sign up. That or go load trailers for $13/hr and 3 hours a day.

Exactly so how is that a win BUG?

I've never said it was a win. More like, the reality of life ?

As far as how many come back, I suspect many will, in the absence of other choices.

Because if they had other options, I would expect they would have exercised them already?

And because of peoples life choices, the IBT should beholden to "caring for the poor" ?

Thats' socialism.... 101.

Why should they do the same job for less money?

Who is forcing anyone to bid a 22.4 job ?

We haven't even voted yet.

Might as well, they did that to part timers decades ago.

Yep.

1982 was the year.

Then Ron Carey expanded on it.

Really....

Who is the "bad guy" ?

The cover drivers that exist are temporary.
Are you kidding me! This alone shows how clueless you are. Your intimidation may work on others but not me. That is a two tier driver and the are all over. Stop acting like this is something new. We all know you don’t want people to know Ron Carey let them in the 1997 contract. You keep trying to discredit me but you keep putting your foot in your mouth! Two tiers drivers already exist all over UPS, they have no 9.5 rules and get paid less than a RPCD. They work temporary and year round all over so don’t act like a 22.4 is something new.

And still doing it. Imagine working next to a guy who is making $35/hr while you are making $10/hr. The 22.3 I work with in the car wash is always complaining that she makes less then the rest of us and isn't going to wash any package cars just play on her phone all night and then goes home instead of working the midnight sort.

No, that's unionism, who's roots are completely embedded in socialist doctrine.

The "life choice" they made was to join hands with their brothers and sister to bargain collectively with a Fortune 500 company.

Because in the end, we can't all be doctors, lawyers, stock brokers, or even Big Union Guys?

Don't beliitle us for being the backbone of this Company, instead honor us (all of us) with the concession--free contract we deserve.

Let me sum this up for you @Time for change in an analogy.

It's the IBT mindset that it's acceptable to push countless members off the cliff, provided they can point a finger at the stone that started the landslide.

We are dealing with a Company that has never in it's history trended backwards, yet we continue to give them concessions.

That's the reality of what's going in here, plain and simple.

Lift gates? Really. Just call in driver assist and get on the 9.5 list. I love when they called me to help a driver with an oversized pkg. that mean they had to take stops off for me to be under 9.5. Why does that not work for you?
I am on the 9.5 list, and i have the only rural route in the center. You laugh about the overweight stuff. It has gotten out of hand. It’s every day, and multiple overweight. Maybe when you drove it was one a day, now it’s anywhere from 5 to 10, and it’s not like someone can drop what they are doing to ride out to my area at 11am, then 2pm, and again at 5pm. Yea, i think a liftgate is needed for 150 lb gas grills, generators, dinning room sets, bedrooms sets, and gas generators. You guys laugh whil everyone around me is getting injured from this crap. Maybe instead of 22.4 jobs, they should have stuck with the current number of routes, and used helpers as needed. Helpers cost less than 22.4 driver.

No Laguna, they treat everyone like crap.
Of course they do. They get paid to whip us and put on as much as we will take. That being said if no help and unsafe bring it back. You sound like an old timer where age and physical ability comes into play. We had to file a grievance for them giving a old timer that just got back from knee surgery/workers comp three story apartments on his first week back. They don’t care and it’s up to you to protect yourself. BTW now a guy coming back from comp can get 8 hour days the first week back.

The door shouldn't be open in the first place. That's the issue.

It’s not just me. The only guys that enjoy working 12 hour days are the ones that are house poor. I am not afraid to stand up for myself either, it just turns into a shouting match anyway.

What is the name of those drivers positions? TCD?
Again you're a liar.
