Be careful, of what you ask for.

He told me.... you (for the most part) sat on your hands.

It was JH that was asking all the stupid questions.

The truth ?

Politically wise.... your Local is a disaster.

-Bug-
Sometimes sitting on your hands is a sign of respect towards someone when you could (or really wanted to) join in the fray.

Never mistake meekness for weakness.

And maybe let's not blame some active and quality members for what goes on in their local when they've voiced opposition to the situation and have tried to help make changes but fell a little bit short.

Now a strike on the best contract you could possible get is going to grow Amazon into a 600lb delivery gorilla and you won't be able to go back! Why is that you say...(see the George Bailey quote)
TYLER is RUINING LIVES at UPS!
Vote Yes and appreciate what you have.
Talk to your spouse. Spend time with your kids. Focus on happiness for the love of God!

HAHAHAHAHA!

What is totally sad about this is he might be correct! This may very well be the best contract possible considering the skill levels of those negotiating on our behalf! The results of their first attempt is sickening to say the least!

Since when are we going out with peak season volume in beginning of September. I have never seen this amount of work in a September in 30 years . Almost doubling stop counts along with not getting out of building till 10am .. It’s sort of comical how they think that this will change our minds into voting YES for hybrid drivers so we are not working till 10 pm anymore ... FYI. It’s pissing all of us off even more . I knew one guy who was voting YES for his own reasons and now just changed his mind to a NO VOTE and actually volunteered for passing out VOTE NO on 22.4 signs.

THEN SLOW THE :censored2: DOWN AND BE SAFE! COME ON, USE YOUR HEAD! Call your On-Car's cell every hour to complain and get the other drivers to do the same. When they stop answering start in on the center manager's cell! What, are they going to tell you to stop using your phone for their business?!?! They get home at 6 and are spending time with the family and your still out there, Make it cost them!

I swear to god there are to many drivers who do not think they have any leverage or voice or power!

Whatever side of the issue for or against, Vote. However, please have a reason, a logical thought out reason. If you dont have one get one. Take the time to read the contract, think intelligently about the issues. In my building there are those who fall into the vote No side all for various reasons all well thought about. The same goes for the vote Yes side. I respect both. I respect them because eventhough i disagree strongly, to the point i think their out of their minds these individuals have a well thought out reasons ones they can share and they make sense. So you have had the time. And you have just a wee bit more. So Vote this is how we decide our future, our fate as it is to be where we will spend most of our time away from those we Love and Care for, those that support us and we them. Ive taken the time to do this for those that count on me, you owe it to them and yourselves to do the same.

I want to see what happens next.

Does the company say this is our last, best and final offer.

Do the customers start diverting as much volume as the other competitors will take.

Do we go on Strike.

Does the company lock us out and try and bust the union.

These aren't questions. These are some of the possible scenarios. It is very possible that Amazon positions itself to really punch the Biggest guy on the block straight in the mouth.

Does UPS come out of the worst case scenario a much leaner company. The kind of delivery company that can come back stronger with much less volume and employees.

Do they come back as a predominately Commercial and Air delivery company.

You ever watched the movie titled; 'It's a Wonderful Life' ??? where George Bailey says "Hey Brainless..."

RPS is FedEx Ground and when it started in 1985 it would of got decimated in
8-short years MAX from the pride and work ethic of The UPS Teamsters. However, management was a free for all back then. Anything goes... cover their butt and they intentional rode the BEST UPS employees money could buy, which in turn fed into RPS and later FedEx turned into one of UPS's biggest competitors. If UPS didn't harass employees in the 80's they the mid-90's that were 4-ticks over FXG wouldn't be here today. Guaranteed. It was UPS who made FXG happen and Fred S has been laughing about it every since. I KNOW!

First off, don't ever, ever call me brainless. I'm not insulting you personally, I expect the same level of respect. If you knew me at all, the last thing you'd call me is brainless. I am fully aware that RPS became FedEx Ground, I was working at UPS then. The fact that one became the other changes nothing about the statement I made regarding the use of both as boogeymen at various times to sway a yes vote, or to try to scare us. It does show that you use such a fact to dodge the point that was made. How FedEx Ground came to be, and all that is irrelevant. Sorry, yet another dodge of the issue.

I've got news for you, the 600lb delivery gorilla is coming for you regardless. Why you and other Teamsters deserve a subpar contract in the meantime, guess only you know that? Tyler ruining lives?? Exaggerate much? "Vote Yes and appreciate what you have." Sounds like words coming right out of managements mouths. Heard that line every time I had a complaint to management. Guess it worked on you. Let me fix that for you. Vote Yes and watch what you had start to disappear. "Talk to your spouse. Spend time with your kids. Focus on happiness for the love of God!" What is this supposed to be, you preaching? Do me a huge favor. Go vote yes, enjoy it thinking you won somehow if it is agreed on, and come on back a few years from now and endure the I told you so's. You won't, but I'll know....

Did all that inside information come to you in a dream??....or have you been hanging out in the parlor with Fred S. sipping cognacs and smoking cigars chatting about the past??...If its the latter, talk to Fred, because he replaced your cigar with a blunt...cause youre :censored2:ing high!

Do us all a favor and pretend you are your avatar, and walk your crazy ass down the beach and away from people who care about getting a fair contract!

Nothing like having your union representation running scared in a contract negotiation. All the while, the economy is good and the company's bottom line is good.

Just imagine what these guys would/will negotiate when times are a little tough.

Pathetic...

You forgot a whole slew of scenario. All your options are negative towards the Teamsters. You are no Teamster. What if one of your scenarios is that they renegotiate the 22.4’s and the 9.5 language and it passes after that. Your take it or else treads are a joke. FYI, Whole Foods is on the verge of unionizing. Guess who owns them? If they unionize, guess what happens next?

Maybe they do, cross that bridge when we get there.

Do the customers start diverting as much volume as the other competitors will take.

Maybe, but most are unaware of the status of our current negotiations. Very few would jump the gun and move before a real
discussion and notification of intent to strike.

Do we go on Strike.

Maybe, I absolutely hope we don't. I think that would cost us more jobs than we're fighting for now, but just maybe.

Does the company lock us out and try and bust the union.

Not a chance. Well, at least not until we reach years of stagnation regarding this, and at that point, there's no reason. This option would be corporate suicide, there are shareholders to answer to.

But maybe they go back to the table and take care of just a few things. Maybe the PT get a bump, maybe 22.4 have guaranteed inside time to justify the -$6 pay, maybe they have 9.5 and 8-hour requests. Maybe some good :censored2: happens...

Quit trying to scare people into voting yes. What will happen next is they will go back to the negotiating table. Once they fix language in regards to 22.4"s, 40 hour guarantee, working 70 hr workweeks and six days a week then it will have a chance to pass.

Tony, even your post shows the you have no confidence in your negotiators skills. Even you think Taylor’s ability is weaker than an 80 year olds erection.
