Been In Brown Too Long
Ex-Package Donkey
I'm mean, really? This is union negotiations 101. This has been the case of every single union contract negotiation since unions were formed. These have always been the risks. Thanks for the history lesson. Same risks were there in '97, and yes one of your "do we's" happened. We went on strike. There were plenty of scared Teamsters back then too.I want to see what happens next.
Does the company say this is our last, best and final offer.
Do the customers start diverting as much volume as the other competitors will take.
Do we go on Strike.
Does the company lock us out and try and bust the union.
These aren't questions. These are some of the possible scenarios. It is very possible that Amazon positions itself to really punch the Biggest guy on the block straight in the mouth.
Does UPS come out of the worst case scenario a much leaner company. The kind of delivery company that can come back stronger with much less volume and employees.
Do they come back as a predominately Commercial and Air delivery company.
Enter into this vote at your own risk. It is possibly that you go to the point of no return.
Your "I want to see what happens next" and "Enter into this vote at your own risk" are thinly veiled threats. Instead of listening to your members concerns, threaten them. Great game plan. Your members are straight up telling you they don't like certain parts of the language. Perhaps you should listen...
