Let them name one major literally work, one history book that has been banned. It's absolutely pathetic that they use this politically without making people aware exactly what has been removed.

Yep. I’ve got mainstream media-only friends and family who have no idea that this stuff exists. The denials will only work for as long as the information walls will hold.

Numerous parents read, or had their kids read, passages from books found in their school libraries at a number of school board meetings. Graphic stuff that would get me censored here. Have seen quite a few videos of this. Sorry, didn't write the titles down. Now of course you'll tell you haven't seen it yourself so just another Right wing conspiracy.
Just don’t buy the books for your kids. You’d be really upset at Japanese manga. Perhaps you need to go to the local Asian bookstore and get really angry.

Here's where we differ. Freedom means having all sorts of books, even the ones you disagree with. The pedophile narrative and "grooming" is old and tired, and is also false. If you don't like a book, don't buy it. But for you people, the answer is to ban books. In fact, you'd probably prefer to burn them. Your "leaders" have you controlled like robots and you are completely blind to it.
I never said ban anything. I said if you’re ok with it, you’re a pedophile.

The harder the far right-wing rages against tolerance and acceptance of their fellow American the more they'll lose in electoral politics. Most Americans see the hyperventilating over this issue as out of line because most Americans know or love someone that's LGBTQ+... and the voters will punish the extremists like they have been come election time. :)

That's a parental issue too. Why are you defending graphic sexual acts being portrayed or described in books aimed at children with access to them in school libraries? Seems odd. You seem to know an awful lot about paedophilia.

Yep, deflect and accuse me of something ridiculous. In the world of science and rational thought, most experts on human sexuality have evolved as their knowledge has grown. Homosexuality is no longer considered a mental disorder except by Conservatives, and the whole idea of multiple types of sexuality is generally accepted in most progressive cultures and the medical/mental health communities. Regressive, Biblically-based Conservative values are your province, but not the truth, except in your narrow view of reality, which isn't going to ever change. The rest of the world will move along without you (and The Pope), Mr. Flintstone.
That said, I had frank discussions regarding sex and sexuality with my kids when they were young teens. My kids are in college now, so I'm not current on what's in the school library. My guess is that nobody is teaching graphic sexuality and that your side is making a huge mountain out of the very molehill idea that there might be something out there other than Christian couples who are strictly heterosexual and identify as only straight men and straight women. Some might even have sex outside of marriage or experiment with same sex relationships....GASP!!!
Reality says your side is living in the Stone Age and that you need to climb out of that giant plastic bubble of religious puritanical rage.
Carry on with the hatred, Praise Jeebus, and read some Freud instead of The Bible.

Love it. Look who's triggered. You are so self unaware that you can't see I did to you what you did to me the other day saying I sure seemed to know a lot about being gay. Nah, I wouldn't accuse you of something ridiculous. I would just say you're a walking, talking caricature of a liberal. You can't help yourself. And there you are defending the right of schools to have pornographic reading material accessible to young kids. The Right doesn't like it so it must be a good thing, huh? Walking, talking caricature.

So you are saying a trans person doesn't have a mental disorder, but that a person with multiple personalities has a mental disorder? They both have multiple personalities..

Retired 2020. Not my Problem Anymore!
There is no problem with people being gay or trans. The problem comes when they (2%) want everyone else (98%) to cater to their needs. The problem is when they start suing specific bakers (they target) for not bowing to their wants and make them a gay themed cake. The problem is when they start suing people and businesses for calling them the pronoun they are and not what they want to be. The problem is when they think they need a month of celebration why other persons get 1 day. The problem is when they want to show off their sexuality in the streets (parades) and in front of children. The 98% sees how fast this is progressing and where this is going. That is the problem. These people are what they themselves say they hate… “Extremist”

Says you. Nether of us are a psychiatrist. As far as I know, they aren't analogous.

My answer is leave them alone. If they want to have a parade, don't attend. Same with Gay Pride Month. If you're Conservative, ignore it as you would Black Pride Month etc. The only pronouns which confound me are "they" and "them" which usually denote plurality. I just spent 2 weeks in San Francisco and the big issue was homelessness, not LGBTQ. I saw a handful of obviously gay people and exactly 2 who were trans. No parading around in front of kids etc. and no drama at all. If you want your outrage go the Pride Parade next month where it gets pretty weird. But, that's their parade, right? I've never been, but my wife said she went once and was so uncomfortable she left after 5 minutes. Pretty out there..
The wedding cake cases are pure drama IMO. If a baker won't bake your cake because you're gay, just go to another one who will. If I were the shop owner, I'd want the business and would avoid the adverse publicity. But, you also need to respect the beliefs of the owner.
I don't see a gay "takeover"...ever. There are too few of them and the idea that they "recruit" and "groom" any more or less than heteros is false. Nobody is in danger unless you have those tendencies already, and science says gay is hard-wired, as in you know by a young age which way you swing.
Speaking of extreme, are you OK with 3 Percenters, Proud Boys, Oath Keepers are the various other militia type groups? While I disagree with them, your side seems fine with their antics....marches, rallies etc. What about the kids? Or extreme Christians who force their kids to follow in their own footsteps? We have all sorts of extremists.

As I stated, I'm not up on what's in school libraries. Given the Far Right tendency to over react, it's probably much tamer than you're stating. Like I said, check out some of the manga books out there if you're interested in queer romance, and highly sexualized content both homo and hetero.
Here's my "walking, talking, liberal" resume.
1. Gun owner (multiple). Buying more powerful weapons and stockpiling ammo to protect me from The Right.
2. Concealed Carry holder
3. Death penalty supporter
4.Police Supporter
5. Critic of the BLM overreach, especially into the media. I'm tired of seeing Blacks OVER-represented constantly in commercials and TV shows. While I support BLM, I don't want social justice crammed down my throat constantly. BTW, my wife is Black, and she sees the same thing.
6. I drive a couple of very politically incorrect vehicles.
If that's a standard liberal, I'd be pretty surprised.
