Hopefully this is my last contractYou know it's funny with everything that's changed the last few years if I were leading negotiations I'd be licking my lips. This should be a very good contract for us. Yet I have zero confidence in Hoffa.

Some people have responsibilitys... get the kids ready for school, walk the dog ectWhy are you waking a 6 am when you have a 9 am start
I just see so many guys show up an hour or more before start time and don't get it.Some people have responsibilitys... get the kids ready for school, walk the dog ect
Add to that a 45 min commute and it's easially understandable
I agree 100%I just see so many guys show up an hour or more before start time and don't get it.
Brownslave you sure do post a lot. Are you a driver or preloaded? Do you have a life outside of ups. I work 50 to 60 hours a week year round, now maybe 70. I have kids, wife, life outside of this hole. You know lineman, heavy machinery operators blah blah but they couldn’t do this job, I would take their job in a heartbeat,I’m assuming you wake up, work and then go home and sit on your laptop posting on here. That's what I will agree with.
If the year round OT wasn't such an issue I don't think (or I hope) there would be as much complaining.
I get there fairly early, just grab a 30 min nap if the traffic happen to be good that morning.I just see so many guys show up an hour or more before start time and don't get it.
Got a wife and a kid. Got about 20 minutes with the kid each morning and didn't see the wife awake one lick all week.Brownslave you sure do post a lot. Are you a driver or preloaded? Heavy equipment operator for almost 20 years before I came to Ups,the only weeks we weren’t working 6 was because we were working 7,silly to say either one couldnt do this jobBrownslave you sure do post a lot. It's likely that they have already figured that out, and in most locations, that's all this "70 hour" thing is about..... wait until they figure out that they can roll your hours ....
Every lineman I know could do this job for sure. Not knocking the operators but there's a few I know that probably couldn't hack it here lolHeavy equipment operator for almost 20 years before I came to Ups,the only weeks we weren’t working 6 was because we were working 7,silly to say either one couldnt do this job
I drive an hour to and from work and rarely feel sleep deprived. Like I said bunch of whiny snowflakes blowing out of purportion.
It's 4-5 weeks worth of work for Christ sake.
I agree and like I said I think that's the bigger issue here.Just because you get to go back to your 3 day a week schedule, that doesn't mean the rest of us will.
As a matter of fact, yes I do believe we should. For this and a handful of other reasons. They are in desperate need of an attention getting action PRIOR to the near end of this contract.
We must dig in and get a far better deal. Or as you see things slide by little by little in many facets and then it becomes the norm and it's hard to go back on.
I can see a scenario this year where so many drivers and locals are fed up with him that he gets forced out to get a contract to pass.As long as H. and his cronies are in charge it will never happen
I'll agree the year long excessive hours is uncalled for. And I think that's what upsets people about this.
A few extra hours for a few weeks out of the year shouldn't be that big of a deal.
For multiple years.I don’t think people would be nearly as wound up over this if
They hadn’t been getting pounded with the route cutting and long hours all year
