I'm not sure how one can get sleepy while delivering, especially at the speed of peak. Constantly moving quick keeps me very awake no matter the hours. It's not like over the road driving hours on end on a highway where you can easily fall asleep behind the wheel.
It's not about getting sleepy, it's the continuous beatdown just draining you to the point of mental and physical fatigue and not having the energy to function at your normal potential.

I and I imagine most guys are so hyped up on adrenaline that I don't feel that type of fatigue that I feel I'm unsafe behind the wheel.

Some of you guys sound like cry babies. Online shopping is only getting bigger which means every peak will be worse. It will not be better next year.

1 full time driver's yearly compensation is probably around $120,000. This includes pay, healthcare and pension contributions. So if UPS hired 10 guys, it cost them 1.2 million dollars. 10 guys wouldn't put a dent in the man power needed. So 100 drivers spread out across the country would cost UPS $12 million a year. Dont expect the job to become any easier. Hang in there, only a lifetime to go.

On a side note, Im still only working 40hrs a week.
