True but eventually you need might need to give them a little push if you don't want them to end up spending their lives in your basement.
That's why I taught them responsibility. Just like when they wanted to get their drivers license. You get a job first to pay for the gas and half if the insurance, then you can drive.

Kids are different. I had one who is super responsible and another who would sponge off others for life.

I never wore a the bow tie but when I started there were plenty of them laying around in the dressing room lockers. The older guys said for the most part they would take them off as soon as they left the building.
