Why is it that most people were told to ignore ORION previous peaks?
there could be a bunch of reasons

  • PDS swamped with work not able to correctly adjust parameters
  • late air or late leave building completely fries the solution
  • work is so dense that miles reduction savings doesn't outweigh service considerations
    • this can be handled in parameters, but would require the PDS to spend some time they may not have
  • or just general misunderstanding of what ORION actually does

yes i agree

there was literally nothing else going on and it was a huge sustained leap beyond any trend we'd have had before
I'll mention one last thing. I think it was pure genius. That as soon as December started we stopped with 10:30 commits. It created the super late start time. Which created runners out of people to get off at the same time. Sneaky, problem is that choice actually is losing customers, because they say why should I pay more for a service I could get cheaper. Brilliant.

Many older buildings weren't designed to handle larger package cars.
True but you can modify park positions so smaller trucks can ease out making room for the others.

Often we see 1000's on platforms nose to nose (2 different lines). There is no cohesive plan.

That's funny considering we ignore it for 11 months out of the year here. I can beat Orion blindfolded wearing earmuffs. It was a disaster
Lol, it a shame who we have allowed to run this place. They get on message boards and don't even realize what they are telling people. I think the begining of 2024, everyone should man up and run Orion 100% no matter what. And watch how out of control the paid day gets. And how much the miles will go up. This person is say it works great. Do anyone know why?. Because I.E. was the group that put the approval stamp on this crap program.
i dunno how to say this more plainly: ORION is basically what your PDS makes of it, it's just a miles calculator with service consideration priority adjustments

when you say dumb stuff like "i can beat ORION", that's like saying you got directions in google maps, told it to ignore highways, it sends you on a 100 mile detour, then you ignore the solution and take a highway anyways, beating the solution

like, NO :censored2: SHERLOCK, if you put stupid limitations on it, OF COURSE YOU CAN BEAT IT

We can't have nice things. Because we have to many up top that don't know the job. That is our greatest down fall. If I ever become CEO all off the street higher ups are gone, and would collectively start highering from within. To create the proud of were I came from environment. Not the this is how it works because my paper says it does. I'd also do away with every person that manipulated their numbers.
Amount of packages at each bulk stop has decreased. If you didn't know what I was talking about about. You never have done the job.

too bad most of our driver pool doesn't fit that description at all

the numbers dont lie, we pushed SPC up 10-15 with no loss in paid day; you can cope with unicorn scenarios all you want, doesn't change reality
The number at operational level sent to region do lie. Unloaders on the preload go home at 3.5 feeders guys continue the offload. Preload manger stays within or under the allowed hours for the operation. Preload manger passes on the operational cost to feeder manger. Feeder guys are ghost employees get production numbers up and payrolll for those numbers are attached to another department
