So now you’re an IE Supervisor?peak hire, spent 2/3 my career in the ops have done basically everything in PKG, most everything in HUB, a little AIR and nothing at all in FDR
He will never be an RPCDSo now you’re an IE Supervisor?
It is exactly that....a miles optimizer but with lackluster results...it's so we could get a kickback, bonus, discount, call it what you want.no, i blame the PDS because that's literally the reason anyone can beat an ORION solution
i'm not joking when i say the only way to beat a 0-0 parameter would be to fly or drive off-road; this shouldn't be controversial, it's just a miles optoptimizer.

i audibly snorted, that might be the most low-key disrespectful question i've ever been asked
i'm not a stinky linkie, i'm a maxi
If you are under dispatched Orion will plan you for more miles .It is exactly that....a miles optimizer but with lackluster results...it's so we could get a kickback, bonus, discount, call it what you want.
Also, you may see the technical side of it, but we as drivers are told to use Orion, and we have to stay what...within 85%? Doesn't matter about PDS, RDO, ODO....How about let the driver get the route done in a sensible order and at a reduced time on road. Why does UPS try to save a couple miles when getting back 30 min earlier saves FAR MORE $$$ than the fuel/wear used to drive 2 or 3 miles, or 10 miles.
When I'm told you to use Orion trace, I'm out later.
When I freelance my route so the customers get their business pieces BEFORE 2PM OR NOON, they are HAPPY. This whole bit with Orion puts a middle finger in the faces of business owners who need product for the day and to be able to send product back out. They get pretty pissed when we deliver to them at 4 PM instead of 11 AM....just to appease the bean counters...who pays for this? The CUSTOMERS, take care of them.
Exactly.Orion is a severely flawed program. It is figured out by bird flight.
Hire more people. UPS found a way to send routes that averaged 140 stops for years, out now with 200 stops and tell the driver they are out too late. When a building/center is understaffed who is to blame. Combination? Why are projections for volume in some areas so off?
What "unicorn scenario" are you talking about? Please advise because it sounds like you haven't been a driver, at least for more than 6 months...correct that latter if you must.the numbers dont lie, we pushed SPC up 10-15 with no loss in paid day; you can cope with unicorn scenarios all you want, doesn't change reality
Or manipulated by a human.....??to/from allowance is calculated by ORWM nerds looking at swaths of data averages
Maybe PT AdminHe will never be an RPCD
Part time is the future....Maybe PT Admin
IE actually recommends optimized lineups + staggered starts (for loading and AM-exit) all the time to the PDS/preload teams and are ignored 99.99% of the time because "it just wouldn't work because......i-it just wouldn't OKAY???"
meanwhile pulls are blown out and drivers are chilling out for 30min because they cant leave the building yet
Literally, no one knows for sure. Ask five people get four different answers. Will MLK be a working holiday?

It's a paid holiday. How would they code you a no call no show on a day that they have to put holiday as pay code. Will MLK be a working holiday?
