Are we still complaining about ORION. @soberups is that you? I can't remember the last time I cared about Orion.

Too many drivers think like the old days. "This is my route!" No it's not. You're paid to deliver and pick up. Stop trying to pretend your the Micheal Jordan of your route. UPS doesn't care anymore.

Okay mister I work 3 days a week, thank you for your knowledge
I'm just saying. Why do we care? Just go do the route. It's on the company to adjust. I'm on 9.5. Whether I do 100 stops or 150 stops it doesn't matter to me. We all want to pretend like we are the route. I'm just a delivery driver and I get paid well to be just that.

The complaint is they drive around soo much. Don't people take rural routes for the same reason. Because it's easier??

1. As every dispatcher gets replaced then newest ones are less knowledgeable than the last. Why can't UPS train these people properly.

2. UPS knows or is supposed to know what places businesses are. Why can't the DIAD's be programmed with a 5:00 commit time for the businesses. That way when people are not running a route or an area, they are unfamiliar with the commit times are met.

On three seperate occasions today i had two houses next door to each other. I stop compete one stop, before i can scan the next package i have to wait for orion to “solve” again and of course it picks some house miles away, not the one thats 30 feet from me. Also on multiple occasions today my diad spun and spun doing another manifest update, and it came up with return to building as my next stop, every time i had over 100 stops left.

I guess my question is, why does this happen
My center must have turned off the static Orion for peak. I have not had a single manifest update in the last month.

I know everyone complains about ORION, but since I started following it 100% (or as close as I can) my driving amount has increased and the number of stops I do decreased and I've made a crap ton of money just driving in circles. Stop making ORION look good by sometimes following it and then not following it when it doesn't make sense...that just makes it look like it's a brilliant program. I think the "ORION improvement" is less about ORION's greatness and more about how much more efficiently newer drivers can do routes with navigation. Doing routes blind in the past was a loooooong, slow day looking through map books. Orion didn't change that, Nav did.

Why can't the DIAD screen touch below the signature line turn off so customers (especially the elderly) can rest their hand on the screen to sign?

absolutely not unless you mean by their DM or ops manager, then i dunno it's possible but generally at that level they're not stupid enough to openly instruct something that could cost them their job
Not true...it is so pervasive in my building and totally out in the open. They fudge numbers so regularly it's hard to tell what's right. In fact they teach the new people to do it right away so they don't even know what they are doing is wrong and this goes all the way up past division and includes IE, OE ,HR (what's left of them ) all ops supervisors and managers.
Try turning anyone in on the ethics line and nothing changes except you just blackballed your chances at moving up or getting a decent mediocre raise.
If your not one of the bloated egos faking their way to the top then you will be frustrated trying to work against the facade of integrity and ethics and get nowhere. Only the big chest thumpers see raises of 4% or more the honest hard worker is rewarded with more of his bosses tasks and 2% or less a year as reward.
Ups is a big sham run by the biggest fake of them all. The money grubber CEO and all her "wildly" positive talk that never results in anything but less jobs.
And union people count your combo jobs they are quietly not putting many of them back up for bid when vacated hoping you all won't notice!

lmaooooo, imagine some salty driver getting that solution and saying ":censored2: it, i was instructed to follow trace" and ending up back at the barn

anyways, something about your RDO or parameters are :censored2:ed up, unless they were different service levels then it may have been chasing a commit

Most of the time I see a stop broken up into multiple pieces (when not delivering 10:30 commits) it is to deliver the savers early then the rest later on. I could understand it being a programming error from before Covid when we actually had 1500 business saver commits, but surely they know about it by now - and the time commits in the DIAD still show EOD.
