Why does the Diad SUCK
🧔‍♂️✊

no real answer? I have to restart my Diad over a dozen times a day. ANSWER THE QUESTION.

The DIAD sucks because of location software. Certain areas that no one would want to live in seem to make the DIAD crash conconstantly. There I answered you question.

God I wish there was someone out in IE that could explain why the diad needs rebooted so often and loads so slow/doesn’t work in rain…oh well i guess they don’t exist 😞

another dumb position UPS wastes money on 🤷‍♂️

nah, they actually took a quick test at replacing some of IE with AI and outside contracting and they found our company is so convoluted, complex, and disorganized it cost more to fix the mess than it would save
I feel this is the first time in history someone in management is being truthful

What’s ie’s stance on bonus centers? Do they agree with the idea because theoretically the center may need less number of drivers or does it not matter? And why are there bonus and non bonus centers, why not all either one way or the other?
bonus centers have higher production which = less staffing which = good

Teamsters wouldn't allow bonus centers everywhere

When paying penalty pay grievance to union employees for supervisors settled supervisor working,9.5 violations and payroll errors.

Why doesn’t UPS legal go after those managers/supervisors Salary/bonus the end of year restricted stock awards. To recover some of wasted money cause the manager/supervisor screwed up on paying in a timely matter
I don't think you know what IE does. :)
this isn't an IE question but i do know a tiny amount about our legal dept

UPS legal is awful, but what you're asking to do would open a big can of worms where a company could just make up excuses why management cost them $$$ and then tax them for it

you wouldn't attract any talent whatsoever with a setup like that, who would want Big Carol shaking them down for shekels every Christmas (Hanukkah) just to pump the share price

@catstalking why aren’t apartment unit #s reflected in dispatched stop counts? Why not add Saturday service to small centers to help compete with FedEx and the post office?
its difficult (tedious and time consuming) to correctly assign packages to specific apts in the Address Management System and more difficult to capture the inbound manifests of those packages

because we already have 90% pop coverage and the delivery side of weekend service is just the icing to keep the pickups coming; no heavy weekend pickups to advance = no point in delivering either

Why don't they get rid of Orion and let drivers use area knowledge?
Has been proven Orion is ineffective.
because ORION is literally a financial success no matter how much people complain about it

it could and should have been way better, but it's absolutely better than what we were doing before

ask me your deepest questions as to how this place functions and I can answer them below the VP level
Why does UPS change your to/from allowance then do a 3-day ride because you went from being 20 clicks over to 120 clicks over?

The best part is when they look at you and ask what we are doing differently...but we will do a 3-day ride and figure it out.

The level of dishonesty and manipulation in mgmt is astounding.

Those who don't know, if you have an average of 90 miles on your route, and it's 15 miles each way to your 1st stop, UPS can change the distance from traveling to your route, as opposed to distance accumulated within the route. So they would make it look like you have 20 miles to and from, or 25 instead of 15.

Takes more time to work 10 miles of resis than 10 miles of highway.

This is funny.

You mean to say that a veteran driver with a vast amount of area knowledge, doesn't know how to get through a route faster than a bean counter that says to drive past your 1st physical geographical stop to deliver an air somewhere else, then come back to the 1st physical stop for the ground, then end up driving past the air stop 20 min later.

Ok.....yup, Orion makes all the sense.

Orion was created so UPS could get a sweet discount from using less fuel when gas was stupid expensive around 2008-ish...by traveling less miles. However it resulted in longer on-duty time, increased OT, pissed off customers, etc, etc.

Orion has been a pita from day 1.

Can Orion be setup in a way where it optimizes the stops being delivered out of the passenger side door? Which is both safer and quicker.

It’s also funny how some drivers were beating the Orion miles by 20, 30, 40 miles a day…how do you even explain this IE boogeyman??
