Euthanasia is what we do for our beloved, aging pets to ease their pain and somewhat comfort their transition.

I was, at one point, all for the death penalty. I'm not now.

Death is too easy. Subject these people to the living hell known as "life without parole" in that small cage in a predatory environment.

A corrections officer friend of mine once commented, ".....like rats in a jar......if you leave them alone long enough they will kill each other.".

I was commenting globally, but you're correct.

Yet, the whole thread 'begs the question'.

In one case, you could make a concerted case for or against the death penalty.

In the other case, no matter what case you make, there's always another who's going to disagree with you.

Arkansas executed two prisoners, three hours apart last night.

I do hope they took the time to wipe down the gurney in between.

Not a fan of capital punishment.

Aside from my moral objection, the death penalty doesn't seem to deter crime, and ends up being more expensive than 'life in prison'.

What's the point?

Seems to me, life in prison is a worse punishment in either case.
