Vengeance. Americans like to kill. Gandalf said it best, "Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement."

While I am for capital punishment the Biblical concept of an eye for an eye is usually said with the wrong meaning. It does mean proportional punishment but more as a limit, such as no more than an eye for an eye. Intended to restrict the escalation that could lead to wholesale slaughter.

By the way, why do we speak of Judeo-Christian as if the two do not have significant differences?

That's pretty much been my take since high school.

One of whom had escaped previously from a maximum security prison. I bet they thought he was rendered harmless to society before that happened and he killed two more innocent people.

if theres no other developed countries which practice capital punishment, then this may be another example of america bveing the only country practicing uncivilized policies like being the only country with no paid vacation time by law, the only country with no paid maternity leave by law, etc.

That was a decent try but that was a weak spin.
