My dad gave me a M-1 Carbine for Christmas as my first gun. It was $99 out of the Sears catalog at the time, I wish I still had that rifle.

My big Christmas present isn't under the tree this morning. I ordered a Ruger 10/22 Sporter a month ago, the dealer told us it would still be on backorder for another month. He advertises 15,000 guns in stock, except for the .22 rifle I wanted.

A friend of mine went to Cabela's in Minnesota on a family vacation.

He said they walked out with 3-4 boxes of Winchester .22 LR bulk boxes, no limit, and they had TONS of ammo in stock.

Three aisles worth. No limit.

Cabelas > Bass Pro Shops > Gander Mountain

Gander Mountain is equal to a Tractor Supply Store, where Cabela's is supposed to be a pretty classy joint! I haven't been to one yet.

Gonna go to my first Bass Pro Shop here in the next couple weeks.
