Or... Trump and his unwitting tools tried to overthrow the government.
That's a very stupid conspiracy theory though.

Just on it's face, if you know even the most basic things about the functions of our government, you would know how dumb that narrative is. You don't get control of the government by occupying the Capitol building. Completely ridiculous suggestion.

It's like you people just choose to completely ignore common sense when your media masters spoon feed you BS.

Trump and his fellow conspirators were trying to buy time. Pence would reject the counting of the votes and the electoral votes would be remanded back to the states for a reassessment. Come back with a different result, a Trump victory.

Peter Navarro explained what their plan was on live television.

January 6 was the last ditch effort to overthrow the Constitution and they failed, luckily. Partially because they’re incompetent, partially because we still have the rule of law.

None of that has anything to do with the riot you're claiming was an attempt to overthrow the government.

What you just described is a political process that would have played out within the confines of a constitutional system.

That's not an insurrection and is completely unrelated to the riot, unless you're now claiming the Democrats in charge of security purposely let the riot happen in order to prevent that process.

The riot was the event that would disrupt the counting of the electoral votes. Thankfully, Pence thought better of his superior’s plan.

Pence deserved better than how Trump treated him afterwards. Trump’s disdain for Pence tells you everything you need to know about how much respect Trump holds for our country… which is vanishingly little. You know it’s true, man.

Nope.
Completely ignorant of the political process.

The Republicans who were going to ask for a vote verification process would have "disrupted" the counting with a completely legal request to temporarily convene and discuss it.

That didn't happen because of the riot.
The riot prevented what you would have claimed was an insurrection if they had actually cleared up questions of election legitimacy.

There was nothing to discuss. The riot served as an intimidation tactic to disrupt the process and frighten anyone not on board with Trump’s vision of changing the outcome of the election at the 11th hour.

What Trump and his co-conspirators did was disgusting and unAmerican and illegal. Fake electors, summoning a mob for violence, all of it.

And the J6 Commission misrepresenting what happened with selective video editing to paint as bad a picture as possible in order to imprison as many as possible was disgusting and unamerican. But very Democratic.
