No politician wants cheaper gas these days. That tax revenue is sorely needed and nobody talks about it.

Re: Obamanomics

higher gas prices = less money available by consumers to spend on other items; like food, clothing, bling.

higher gas prices=higher prices for commodities=the money consumers have left over after buying gas does not go as far as it used to

Case in point--I filled my car (Nissan Altima) and ran it through the car wash ($6) before work Friday--$67.95

So if we go in chronological order, the republicans should be trying to repeal the perscription drug plan championed by Gingrich and Bush? Delicious irony.

Gingrich being a democrat and Obama being Bush 3, now talk about Delicious Irony!

NO.
In order for his energy policies to work, going green has to be cheaper than oil. Something that is not part of reality now.

At this moment, your point is very true but the problem is that green and oil are not playing on the same level field. End all tax credits, subsidies and any other form of gov't welfare to both green and oil and let them openly compete against one another. And while you are at it, do the same for Natural Gas and Electricity and then let these compete head to head with wind, solar and even micro-hydro. If people understood the true costs of these forms of energy that currently sit in the driver seat in this country and those costs made fully transparent, the argument on which way to go would vastly and drastically change.

Everyone loves to proclaim just how great America is in technology and innovation but ponder this fact a moment. Over 100 years ago, an internal combustion engine was mounted on 4 wheels and people began to use this device as a means of conveyance. 100 plus years later, people mount an internal combustion engine on 4 wheels and use this device as a means of conveyance. So where's the great leap in innovation and forward thinking? The only change has been is the speed you travel and at what comfort level which any mode of transport can do that.

bbsam nailed it on the money when he said:

It's the entire central planning model of public policy that restricts the leaps in progress no different than the same central planning models in the old Soviet Union failed their people too. Remove the gov't from this entire structure and the innovation and technological leaps will once again return.

The Bolivian President and a Russian political leader have launched a campaign to revoke Obama’s honour after the US attacked Libya.
Liberal Democratic Party of Russia leader and Vice-Chairman of the State Duma Vladimir Zhirinovsky released a statement today calling for the Nobel Prize Committee to take back the honour bestowed on US President Barack Obama in 2009.
Zhirinovsky said the attacks were “another outrageous act of aggression by NATO forces and, in particular, the United States,” and that the attacks demonstrated a “colonial policy” with “one goal: to establish control over Libyan oil and the Libyan regime.” He said the prize was now hypocritical as a result.
Bolivian President Evo Morales echoed the call: “How is it possible that a Nobel Peace Prize winner leads a gang to attack and invade? This is not a defence of human rights or self-determination.”
