Re: Obamanation here today

Here's another great story......................
Washington (CNS News) – In what the White House calls a push for transparency, a pending executive order would require companies doing business with the federal government to disclose political contributions to independent groups, but would not place the same requirement on public employee unions or federal grant recipients that typically donate to Democrats.
Entitled the “Disclosure of Political Spending By Government Contractors,” the order would implement parts of the DISCLOSE Act, which failed to get through Congress last year. The legislation sought to restrict campaign speech after the landmark Citizens United vs. Federal Elections Commission U.S. Supreme Court ruling that upheld the right of corporations and unions to donate to campaigns.
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney confirmed Monday that work is underway on the draft order, and linked the move to President Obama’s stated commitment to transparency.
Obama’s Executive Order Will Exempt Unions From Disclosing Political Contributions Prior to Obtaining Government Contracts…

Re: Obamanomics

So what you are saying is that: if Barry fixes everything he will be 3rd in your eyes behind God and his Son, and if he doesn't fix it, or makes it worse it will be someone elses fault? Obama can't do wrong in your eyes and has an alibi for every situation. Is the reason you are not in the White House because your father held you back? Do you blame your older brother for your parents being more strict with you?

When you are elected President, I'm pretty sure you know what you are inheriting from the previous tennant. If Obama would even show signs of improvement, I could work with that, but he hasn't.

Obama's main task has been to un-do the Bush years. Skip the religious analogies, OK? They are nonsense.

Good to see that "Baby Joeseph" is going home. A few months ago he was to be taken off life support in Canada.... so American doctors got involved. Will our healthcare be like Canada in the near future?

Now you get to see the oppossite side of the Canadian Healthcare system :

Woman who helped mom die in Europe sues to legalize assisted dying in Canada

By Tamsyn Burgmann, The Canadian Press | The Canadian Press – 33 minutes ago
(April 27th, 2011).

VANCOUVER - The daughter of a terminally ill British Columbia woman who escorted her mother to Switzerland to die with the help of a doctor is reopening the assisted suicide debate in this country.
Lee Carter filed a suit in B.C. Supreme Court on Tuesday, launching what's believed to be the first constitutional challenge since Sue Rodriguez lost her battle on the issue in Canada's highest court in 1993.

The association is named as a plaintiff in the suit, along with Carter's husband and a Victoria doctor who says he's willing to participate in physician-assisted dying if the laws were to be repealed.
Suicide is legal in Canada, but it is illegal to counsel, aid or abet another person in the act.

So, now you can bash Canada for sending people not only to survive but also to die outside the country !

Klunk,
You don't get to pick and choose. You condemn carrying weapons to defend yourself against someone who is "having a bad day", but condone picking and choosing who gets a chance at life- maybe they are just "having a bad day". You probably don't believe in miracles, but you definitely don't get to play GOD.

I find it funny that suicide is legal here.
What would the government do , otherwise ?

Prosecute you , after you're dead ?

Possibly something close. If there's a family fortune at stake, I could see it coming up in probate court or in a challenge to a will as to "soundness of mind and body".

Can the estate or life insurance of the successful suicide be "prosecuted"?
What would they prosecute them for? As moreluck stated lots of insurances would be null and void, as you said there could be a will challenge. My guess a will challenge would depend on the timing of the drawing of the will and of the suicide.
I don't know that it is illegal to commit suicide, but it is illegal to attempt, so they can have you committed for professional help.
