[h=2]Obama: “What We’ve Gotten Done I’m Enormously Proud Of”[/h]
obama-crazy-face.jpg

Proud of what? — A 9% unemployment rate? — A $14.8 trillion deficit?
Tapper: Some of the frustration that has come out in this ‘Occupy Wall Street’ protest, you have expressed sympathy with their position, with their feeling of powerlessness. First of all, how do you, as president of the United States, channel an energy and anger that is aimed at you in some ways, aimed at Washington? And the other question I have is it seems as though sometimes your pitch, or the White House pitch, is you’re almost a victim in this. You’re not responsible when you have gotten so much past. I just wonder if you think that’s effective to say, “it’s those mean Republicans who are blocking me,” when you’ve really gotten a lot done?

Obama: Well what we’ve gotten done I’m enormously proud of and it’s making a difference, and in some cases we’ve had a chance to actually work with the Republicans. When they show themselves willing to actually engage to try and get stuff done, then we can do a lot of good for the country.

Assploding Hypocrisy: DNC Chief Wasserman Schultz Tells Republicans To Stop “Demonizing” Obama And Dem Leaders…

This is the same woman who has relentessly demonized the Tea Party as “extremists” and “racists” and now she has the chutzpah to criticize us for attacking Obama and congressional Democrats. The height of arrogance and hypocrisy.
“What I say to independent voters is that the demonization of our leaders like President Obama, like the Republicans did to Nancy Pelosi in the 2010 campaign, is absolutely unacceptable, and I think they will reject it across the board. People know that each of us that runs for office stands on our own record. It’s irresponsible for a political party to engage in that kind of demonization, particularly of the President of the United States.”

The Obama years have racked up the three largest deficits, both in absolute amounts and as a share of GDP, since Hitler still terrorized Europe. Some increase in deficits was inevitable given the recession, but to have deficits of nearly $1.3 trillion two years into a purported economic recovery simply hasn’t happened in modern U.S. history. Yet President Obama fiercely resisted even the token spending cuts for fiscal 2011 pressed by House Republicans earlier this year.
The table also shows how close the federal budget was to balance as recently as fiscal 2007, with a deficit as low as $161 billion, or 1.2% of GDP. Those are the numbers to point to the next time someone says that the Bush tax rates are the main cause of our current fiscal woes.

U.S. ranks just 42nd in life expectancy
Lack of insurance, obesity, racial disparities to blame, experts say

Americans are living longer than ever, but not as long as people in 41 other countries.

For decades, the United States has been slipping in international rankings of life expectancy, as other countries improve health care, nutrition and lifestyles.
Countries that surpass the U.S. include Japan and most of Europe, as well as Jordan, Guam and the Cayman Islands.
“Something’s wrong here when one of the richest countries in the world, the one that spends the most on health care, is not able to keep up with other countries,”

Murray said. “The starting point is the recognition that the U.S. does not have the best health care system. There are still an awful lot of people who think it does.”

US Ranks Last in Health Care vs AUS, CAN, GER, NETH, NZ, UK

This continues to be fascinating:
“The U.S. health system is the most expensive in the world, but comparative analyses consistently show the United States underperforms relative to other countries on most dimensions of performance. Among the seven nations studied—Australia, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States—the U.S. ranks last overall, as it did in the 2007, 2006, and 2004. Most troubling, the U.S. fails to achieve better health outcomes than the other countries, and as shown in the earlier editions, the U.S. is last on dimensions of access, patient safety, coordination, efficiency, and equity. The Netherlands ranks first, followed closely by the U.K. and Australia.”

Via Zero Hedge:
Yes, ladies and gentlemen: All Hallows E’en will be doubly scary this year: for the first time since World War II, US debt will officially surpass GDP on Halloween 2011.

And do all these other countries allow immigrants into their own borders without first giving them a health check ?
Could that be why our quality of care has declined ?
Sicknesses that had been removed from our society are now on the increase .

Sad excuse, why don't you blame it on Tourisum, too ?
The illegals you are talking about.. come mostly from Mexico, right ?
They have national health care there, and probably see a doctor more often then the average US citizen, since many of you simply can't afford to do so (without insurance).

Ever hear of Ellis Island ?
Its just outside of NYC . It was the staging area for immigrants , where they received their health check before being allowed into the country.
Anyone not passing was sent back home.
Prior to 1964 Immigration Reform Act, one needed a US sponsor , who declared that the new arrival would never be a burden to the local community ( collect welfare ) and that the new arrival would report weekly to the local police station.
Today with the influx of millions who bypass check points there are no controls about their health status, until they start jamming up all the emergency rooms.
It's not a sad excuse, but reality.

Still no exuse, you seen London, England lately or Germany, even northern Europe, and all of Europe.
Hongcouver (formally known as Vancouver) ? Or Toronto ?

Every country has many immigrants, and all the "homegrown" people are becomming minorities.
Nothing new there.

Why can't the US deal with it, while other western nations can ?

Re: Obamanomics

CHICAGO (Reuters) - An unofficial gauge of human misery in the United States rose last month to a 28-year high as Americans struggled with rising inflation and high unemployment.

The misery index -- which is simply the sum of the country's inflation and unemployment rates -- rose to 13.0, pushed up by higher price data the government reported on Wednesday.

The data underscores the extent that Americans continue to suffer even two years after a deep recession ended, with a weak economic recovery imperiling President Barack Obama's hopes of winning reelection next year.
