Taxpayers have spent $200 million to establish the network for the Affordable Care Act in Hawaii – $53 million on just the Hawaii Health Connector web site development and management alone.

However, so far, just 257 individuals have secured healthcare through the exchange.
Some 113 employers submitted applications though the exchange, but have not yet selected plan.

Connector Deputy Executive Director Eric Alborg released the numbers for the first time at a Hawaii Health Connector board meeting on Friday.

Despite repeated requests from the media, Hawaii was among the last three states to disclose these figures.

While Hawaii Health Connector executives were hoping to reach a 300,000 enrollment over the next couple of years, and at least sign up the 100,000 people without any medical coverage in Hawaii, critics say the numbers have been dismal.

The current cost breakdown is about $778,000 in federal funds for each individual who successfully signed up for healthcare.

If you mean Lanny as opposed to Lanni, that Lanny was always more favorable to what was known as the Wyden plan that was a bi-partisan healthcare measure coming out of the Senate. Created by the Senate delegation of Utah of Wyden (D) and Bennett (R) and about 15 Senators of equal bi-partisan mix. But it doesn't help Obama's cause if Lanny is being vocal against. That is interesting.

Labor unions, which were some of the more ardent supporters of getting the law passed, have been on the receiving end of numerous administration exemptions to the law.

As usual that story doesn't distinguish it as exemptions for public employee unions, NOT private sector who got screwed. Public employees are among his strongest supporters since he does everything possible to buy their votes.

If it ever hit the National Press --that the largest Transportation Company --that is making huge profits ---dumped healthcare to the Teamster Union --who in turn went to Obama for exemptions and tax breaks --all hell would break loose. The "company would never get an exemption .
